I thought you meant hire Charlie to teach IHL teams some offense. Can you imagine Charlie on skates?

Anybody got any clue who just scored? Other than a Bloomington guy? Couldn't understand anything he said.

What's your secret Mitebite?

Well people its dinner time here. Blake what is wrong with Chaser??

Steve
Sun, 12/20/2009 - 5:29pm

Spiller scored.

Steve

I meant to ask about Chaser also.

The league as a whole needs to do a better job of attracting better young talent.

He's fine. He had a cold and also had some family coming to town so he decided not to go.

This is a game when they're going to have to score four or five to win.

Tim Hoke

Ok thanks Blake

I agree Blake but I also wonder about the type of hockey the IHL is trying to promote. The I and A seem to stress less physical (Euro) while the I is trying to provide a harder style. Do you think that could deter some of the younger guys?

Blake Sebring

Definitely.

So there is no misunderstanding I'm an old time hockey kind of guy. I think they should drop shoot outs and go back to ties....:-)

Good night all and Merry Christmas!!

I'd say most of the players today coming out have never seen a big brawl and wouldn't have a clue what to do. It's not part of the game they were raised in. I think that's part of the reason fans have questions about stepping up to protect teammates and such, because a lot of today's players have no idea about that kind of thing. Same thing with aggressive hitting. They don't know how and often aren't interested.

Steve

Merry Christmas Tim.

I realize that this will cost some cash, but some of the facilities in this league are in need of some upgrades. I'm not suggesting that every rink look like the MC, but I have been told by a few players that certain buildings leave a lot to be desired....

I"ve made 38 changes + I have Brady & Favre at QB. Charles of KC=lots of points./ Komets need a fight to change things.

Blake Sebring

By Tim.

I think a lot of opposing leagues and hockey people point to this as a fighters' league when those of us whom have been around realize that's a total joke. This isn't even close to being as tough as it used to be. It's still significantly tougher than most leagues, though.

That's old school Batman. That would have been common practice 15 years ago, but you never see it today.

Soon as he said backhand and off the ice, I knew it had to be Shaf. He's the only one on the team who can do that now.

Steve
Sun, 12/20/2009 - 5:41pm

Agree Blake. I have no doubt the ECHL cuts down the I. Look at Kzoo. On their roster they show where a player was last season or came from unless it's a team in the I.

Shaf scores....

Steve

Shaf has great hands. He is amazing to watch. If there was just some way he could pass that on to some of the younger players.

Blake Sebring
Sun, 12/20/2009 - 5:43pm

They'd rather work on their slap shot.

Steve
Sun, 12/20/2009 - 5:45pm

Yes.

Steve

How many players do we see today that can go high with a backhand? That was something Chin was good at. He had a funny two handed backhand at times. Scottie Gruhl could do it also.

Go back to the "old" days, Long and company, and the backhand was much more common.
