Reseed.

I haven't really had enough time to study Missouri like I have Bloomington lately. Ks could have an advantage with Lapointe and Cescon who played with Nolan, and they know him pretty well anyway.

More interesting to watch would be Missouri, definitely.

Answer to my own question about playoff format:

Thanks Blake...now I don't know who to root for to win this game. Feel like we might have a better chance against Bloomy, but would rather watch the games against a "true" CHL team.

Yeah it'll be plenty interesting to watch Carlyle Lewis take out Tab or Leo or Chaulk with his cheap shots

It's 2-2 now.

Can anyone believe VCU?

Sun, 03/27/2011 - 3:09pm

I can now because they are good... Maybe the two youngest coaches to face each other in final four

I just want to know how VCU lost 9 games against average teams this year. Help me out. Is this game important Eville- Bloomington in determining who we play? What has to happen?

An 11 and an 8 seed in the final four...that's just insane. If anyone tells you they have those 2 in the final four slap them right in the face for lying to you

Props to both Sims and the Frankes for getting some new players in here and sitting down some others. Here's something I wrote in December and it's nice to see the adjustments being made with Chaulk, at least a little more traffic in front of the net, Tab getting it going, and Warner and PC taking a seat (I'll feel just a little bad if after the season we learn they both had significant injuries)

This team won't win very many games without a center that can carry the puck into the offensive zone. We don't have a single center who can do that. At least five times the defensemen carried the puck deep last night. Frankie is great at it, but it's going to lead to odd man rushes the other way. Curdy would be much better with someone who could pass the puck to him. He's much more a winger than center.

3. Need a forward in front of the net. Schrock was clearly sick/hurt last night. Got to have someone over six feet tall in front to get a few garbage goals and break this streak.

4. Good energy in the first period. Got to find a way to score even strength goals. (See #2&3 above) Going to be a long season if we can't score 5 on 5.

5. We have got to find a away to handle the forecheck. Short passes out of the zone is the key. I'm sick of seeing PC tap his stick as he tries to cherry pick 2/3rd of the way down the ice. I have yet to see that work in the CHL.

6. Need to stop taking dumb penalties. Warner's was simply inexcusable in that situation.

7. Really enjoy the pace of CHL hockey. I liked the clutch and grab of the old IHL, but this is more enjoyable to watch...even if the home team is losing.

First Alan like post of the year...ha! (Really like your post btw Alan!)

If Bloomington wins, Komets play Bloomington. If Evansville wins, Komets play Missouri.

Warner took a penalty from the crowd? Now I understand why so many can't stand him

If Bloomy lost who would Bloomy play Dayton?

Last post for me for a while. APod has really become a gritty player. He looked like Mr Glass from Unbreakable the first few weeks here. Now he takes the body and finishes his checks. It will be fun to watch that kid move up in the years ahead.

I also love Ratchuk as a forward...great hands and quickness.

Playing the best hockey of the year at just the right time! Glad we finished the season with a tough opponent to step up our game.

If Bloomington loses they will play QC

lol GM...it was from a post I had in December... I guess he could have gotten a misconduct for as often as he runs his mouth every single time a penalty is called on him!

I think you want to play Bloomy, Phillips is a rookie and has very little if any playoff experience. I believe he has played every game over the last couple of weeks

I will stay at home on sat. & watch Butler

RobC
Sun, 03/27/2011 - 3:27pm

I wonder how Butler is going to respond now that they will likely be the favorite in their game against VCU next week... should be interesting...

So the Komets home games would be Wed and Friday correct?

Blake Sebring
Sun, 03/27/2011 - 3:33pm

Those were the tentative home dates. Nothing official yet.

Sgriffith
Sun, 03/27/2011 - 3:36pm

If they played Bloomy they would not go 3 in 3 nights would they?

CBJ has a daily $100 gas card draw for STH.

I don't know. I would, just for the potential crowd.

Blake Sebring

That might be the longest intermission of the year. Wonder if they are doing their awards.

I wonder if the Union has any say?

Blake Sebring
Sun, 03/27/2011 - 3:45pm

Sorry, Shannon, I got confused. No, I don't think they'll go 3 in 3. I do think Game 5 could be in Bloomington on the Saturday after Game 4 in FW. That's what I was talking about.
