I also saw Klempa was waived by Johnstown, I really liked him, hope he lands somewhere else!

Really? Who? The Ultimate Warrior Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy?....... ok you can tell how long it has been since I watched wrestling.

The Rock, Stone Cold, and Randy Orton. Still dated, but a little more recent.

Dick the bruiser, the shiek, or is it Tidball and Tedstone?

Steve
Thu, 01/21/2010 - 10:56pm

BoBo Brazil with Dick and the Shiek. BTW, Dick and BoBo's sons are out there in the wrestling world although not the big leagues.

About the live blog, I see several possibilities. Brendan hasn't said anything about live blogging their game, it might have been fun to combine the two.

If I get home in time I'll probably participate. Trying to decide if I want to listen to the Komets, B2 Flint vs Bloomington and blog here, or watch the K's on B2, listen to Flint, and blog here.

If Brendan does live blog that throws another option, possibility into the works. Two blogs, watch one game and listen to the other. I'm glad my wife is out of town, she just wouldn't understand.

If I am not mistaken the Ultimate Warrior is from Indiana so maybe he would suit up for the Komets on Wild Wed's
Trying to remember my youth....who was the Elvis impersonator and his manager with the megaphone?
Steve, wives never understand these things. Most nights I have a different game going on the two TV's in my office and another on the internet radio. My wife has never been impressed with my ability to multitask. She just thinks I am nuts. She is right of course but a nut who can multitask is not your average peanut ;)

I never knew that until Mr. Snuff typed it, but the Ultimate Warrior IS from Indiana. Crawfordsville to be exact. I also thought he was dead, but he's not, and he will be 51 in June. He also says on his website he is the only person who ever played the Ultimate Warrior and he did not have a twin and no one ever took over his role. Real name, James Brian Hellwig. Also Snuff, are you talking about the Honky Tonk Man? What a way to start out a Friday, but feeling like a complete dork for looking up these facts and knowing about the Honky Tonk Man. What's next, some Star Wars trivia anyone?

In other news, there's some hockey games this weekend. GO KOMETS!!

All this wrestling talk brings up some serious questions about Brad Jones and the IHL brass making certain exceptions if former WWF'ers were signed by IHL teams....

Would Tito Santana be the first Latin-American player in the IHL if he suited up?

Would the IHL allow "Frankie" to perch upon Koko B. Ware's shoulder?

Would Superfly Jimmy Snuka be allowed to skate in just his tiger-striped underpants?

Are the Big Boss Man and that Tedstone guy the same person?

Would George "The Animal" Steele be a Flint General since he's a former Michigan State Alum? Seems Muzzatti has a soft spot for MSU players.

And would "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan be allowed to use his 2x4 as a stick? Who wouldn't love to have that guy as their enforcer?

Could Bobby The Brain Heenan be a better coach the Skalde?

All things that just pop into my mind....

Jungle: Wouldn't Duggan have to be our goalie if he was going to fight with a 2x4??

Sgt. Slaughter would just have to kick some butt. What position would you put Andre the Giant. Goalie would be nice since he would fill the area up between the pipes. Forget that He's dead. Oh well!

BoBo Brazil Jr. Honky Tonk Man and Dick the Bruiser Jr. will be in action this Saturday in Warsaw. Get your tickets now.

Actually Sgt Slaughter is already involved with Arena Football( the mascot for the Chicago Slaughter) so I am not sure he'd be interested in hockey.

By the Way Frozen yeah I think that was the guy. I am 36 and haven't watched that stuff in probably 20+ years so it is hard to remember. There was a large announcer guy with rubber bands on his face? And who was the manager that carried around a tennis racket for no apparent reason?
I do remember my favorites though and as far as I am concerned they could be the starting D for the Komets... the good old Moondogs.. Rex and Spot.

The Ghost of Andre the Giant makes guest appearances on one local radio station, so who knows what could happen? The Ultimate Warrior reference cracked me up, btw....had not heard that one since I was a kid. I got to meet Bobo Brazil Jr. once, while helping up in North Manchester at a charity bout put on by a now defunct radio station. I knew the DJs, and some guy they knew had some wrestling connections and got some of the guys to come up there. Nice guys!

The announcer you were talking about is Captain Lou Albano. The manager would be Jim Cornette. I enjoyed my wrestling when I was younger.

You guys are out of your minds! Time to go to dinner with Mr. Komet Eddie Long, and more importantly, his wife Gayle.

Are we invited, Blake? LOL....

Jerad, didn't Lou Albano just die recently? I think that's a name I recognize from entertainment news. Wasn't he Cyndi Lauper's buddy?
