Tailing the Komets

Longest. Second. Period. Ever.

It felt like it took 2 hours to play, and I'm sure I missed most of it yawning. Evansville didn't have a shot on goal for the first 10 minutes, finished with five, yet leads 3-2 after two periods. Komets are working together more than they did last night, but Evansville is much slower and has a much shorter roster than Dayton did Friday night. Komets look better, but really not much.

Evansville got screwed....They scored within the final minute with about 20 seconds to play.. The puck went right past Bouch, hit the back pad and squirted right back out and Bouch covered it up. Without a doubt it was a goal. Ill take the win tho...Our IHL team beat their IHL team

We still stink. Evansville also stinks.

That prett well covers it. Warner's family will just get mad if you say much else.

It's a win, but there are still MANY problems to solve.

Hey Blake....do you know if the guy who fell during the intermission is ok??

Hoping the light bulb guy is okay. Looked like a nasty gash..

Speaking of rough stuff... How about Cescon putting that whipping on Cheesman.

Cescon is my new hero. He is the man on this team. He hits harder than anyone we have had in years.....and he can lay an arse kicking on guys too.

He is fun to watch.

I love to watch him "Open up a can of Cescon on them".....

Plus he knows how to skate. What a plus for a hockey player. Man he looked pissed!

I think we can keep Rechlicz, waive Legault. Rechlicz skates pretty well, and can actually take on a regular shift and crash the net. He is by no means skilled right now....but he is a big guy, throws the body around, and he will fight better than Legault.

But Cescon.....that is one bad dude.

I have to say, the Komets looked better offensively tonight. The Powerplay actually moved the puck on ocasion and I saw them going for the backdoor tonight.

I know it was Evansville. But we play them about 30 more times, and looks like some bad-blood is brewing.

someone should let legault know that if you cant fight you probably shouldnt take the time to take you pads off circle around to center ice and make it look a wwe fight.

Rechlicz had two close calls when he was crashing the net. He really looked like he was due for a rebound. I hope the team can keep it up. It looked like they were really playing for each other. A couple guys laid out to block shots and saw some real hitting a few times.

Rechlicz turned down a fight with "the GIANT" Lane, but Legault DID NOT :)

Evansville definitely looked like the "old" Muskegon team to me. Very chippy, and downright nasty at times. Neither team was stellar, but I applaud our win! I thought the shot by Evansville right at the end went in a hit the back of the net, but based on the lack of celebration and lack of complaints from the Icemen, it must not have.

The shot at the end of the game for Evansville hit one post went over to the other post, hit it and came back out. It was as close to a goal as you can get without getting one. I was sitting in 222 and had a perfect view. But I was wondering about PC's goal. I had a clear view of his shot and it going in but did we interfere with the goalie? There were to many players that I couldn't see what actually happened. By PC's reaction it looked like he knew something happened and that the goal wouldn't count. The reaction of the Evansville coach also. I think he went a little overboard by slamming the door a few times.
Anyway going to both games this weekend we played better last night. Doubled the shots on goal to Evansvilles and moved the puck better. We did have a lot of scoring chances. It could have been 10-3 if we had put some of those close shots in the net. But hey 4 goals in one game. We almost doubled our goals for the season and I will take the win. If we keep improving like that from night to night we will get better. But I still hold firm that Warner and Legault gotta go and need one more skilled forward or center. Whats wrong with Mironivic? I haven't heard.
Lastly I will say that the real reason we won is I mixed things up last night as opposed to the first 2 games. I sat in sec. 222 instead of my normal 604. I didn't wear my new Komet jersey and I drank beer instead of a diet soda. So I guess it has been my fault all along the Komets weren't winning. I apologize to everyone.

DP got mixed up with their goaltender on PC's goal. I'm not sure it was worthy of an interference call. Richard Kromm felt otherwise.

A couple of things: #1 - I hope the light bulb guy is ok. That was pretty bad. I'm sure there will be new rules regarding that now ie helmets being worn.

#2 - It was nice to see a goal and then a win. I still think some changes need to be made. I wouldn't be surprised to see some new players here and others out by Thanksgiving.

Burgee...Do you know ANYTHING about the game of hockey? Just wondering because you never talk about the games or anything that has to do with hockey. Are you one of those who just go to the game to be seen? Oh..wait...we all know that answer already

I'm still trying to get on the big screen, I was already told its not big enough for my head let alone the rest of me!

All I know about hockey is that it attracts hot red headed hockey chicks who tend to sit with Hit and Monkey.

Oh, and my predictions the last 2 years were right on and I've already made it for this year!

Give me a Nellie that can put up very well thought out, intelligent argument and I'll leave them alone.

So here's Burgee's old mantra and rap
hoping his postings will start quite a flap.
But when Burgee starts thinking,
I can smell something stinking.

It was nice to finally get some goals scored and win a game, something I'm sure we all knew would happen sooner or later.

As with every season, only time will tell how good this team will become and how correct Al's advice was (Don't panic this team just needs a few games to come together). I have a tendency to trust in his advice because for now at least his coaching record is better then mine.

I enjoyed the Evansville fans, they reminded me of the Notre Dame band when ND played here last year. I had good conversations with a few of them. Imagine 1600 of them getting that rowdy in their small barn at a home game. Cool eh? I'm also sorry the Komet fans didn't respond to the challenge.
