A los

Elena Kagan is a liberal replacing a liberal, so she's not likely to make a difference on the Supreme Court in the short term. Still, she's going to be there a long time, and we shouldn't forget what her tenure is likely to be like:

Elena Kagan's confirmation represents a victory for big government and a view of the Constitution as a document whose meaning changes with the times.  Based on what we learned the last few months, it is clear that Kagan holds an expansive view of federal power — refusing to identify, for example, any specific actions Congress cannot take under the Commerce Clause.  She will rarely be a friend of liberty on the Court.

Thank you, Sen. Lugar:

Just five Republicans joined Democrats to vote for Kagan: Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, both of Maine; Judd Gregg of New Hampshire; Dick Lugar of Indiana; and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson was the only Democrat to break ranks and vote no.

Yeah, no big surprise from Lugar, his elevator hasn't gone to the top floor for a few terms. Let's hope it's the final nail in the coffin for his public service. The Maine sisters & Grahamnesty were an automatic "hell yea!"for Kagan (as they are true RINO's) but I thought Gregg's pro-life cred would have caused more of a moral dilemma for him with Kagans' "hey they're not born yet, just 86 'em" philosophy.

As Leo noted above, Thanks DICK.

LMAO, Tim...(re: Lugar)
Well said!
Actually, Judge FRAN GULL has more experience (imho), but we're stuck w/ Kevin James...uh, I mean ELENA KAGAN.

Oh, come on. You know perfectly well that no Supreme Court nominee gives a clear answer to anything. Ms. Kagan said that herself.
Are you scraping the bottom so hard that you'll say anything bad about a liberal nominee, even if a conservative would have said exactly the same thing?
And if Kagan had been rejected, do you think Obama would have nominated a conservative in her place? Do you think Lugar is under that impression?
Or are you just preaching to your small pathetic band of acolytes?

All I'm saying Littlejohn, is her (Kagans) propensity to squish the heads of children almost born with a forceps should have been a dealbreaker for Judd Greg and Dicknozzle Lugar.

It tells me how strong their convictions are. Or rather how strong they aren't.

Littlejohn, you should know by now, that conservatives love to whine when they don't get their way. Never mind that they maintain the majority, they will never be satisfied until it's their way or the highway.
