Tailing the Komets

Love this movie

You can watch one of the best parts of Miracle here.

Thanks to Harley for reminding me of it. Maybe it's because I've talked to Steve Salvucci and Mark Wells so much about it, but I just think it's a cool movie. Kurt Russell should have been nominated for his performance.

Yeah, I'm going to watch it again sometime this weekend.

I always thought a fantastic book would have been to go to Russia and talk to the Soviet players about their experiences with this. Here they were the ultimate bad guys, and yet they themselves didn't do anything wrong. They were hated and despised siIt's amazing what that one game did in both countries. I looked into it a few years ago but even the players who were playing in the NHL here would never talk about it. Can't say I really blame them.

Defintely one of the greatest hockey movies of all time. It's a must-see for all hockey fans. Speaking from a critic's perspective, I did think it was maybe a little too hockey-centric for the masses to appreciate it, which is probably the biggest reason it didn't do better at the box office. Probably cost Russell that Oscar nod, too. But as a hockey film -- no question -- it's one of, if not THE very best.

Gotta agree, 100%. Loved this movie!

Don't you mean Steve Janaszak? Sal was not on that team.

One of my favorite movies all-time. I saw it in the theater with my dad, and there were people in the audience who stood up and cheered when the US players scored the goals. I have the DVD and I watch it whenever I need a hockey fix. :)

Too bad, Blake. That's a book I'd LOVE to read....their feelings; how they were treated after the Olympics, post-Olympic careers, etc.
