MacMillan out 1-2 weeks

Komets General Manager David Franke said this evening that forward Brad MacMillan will be out 1-to-2 weeks after getting his hand slashed open by a skate Friday night in Muskegon. No tendons were severed in the incident.

Franke also said it looks like forward Sean O'Connor is going to try to play tonight after getting slashed behind the knee Friday night in Muskegon by Lumerbacks center Todd Robinson. Franke said the Komets have asked IHL VP of Hockey Operations Brad Jones to review the play.

The original plan tonight was for Nick Boucher to start in goal, but he's battling back spasms and it looks like Tim Haun will start in net. Nick is trying to go in warmups but Haun is taking the majority of the shots.

Tim Haun played great. He did not deserve the outcome of 3 powerplay goals in the 3rd period. The first goal he let up looked like the puck took a bad bounce over his glove, but the other 3 were with no help from his team. He kept the Komets in the game with about 7 or 8 break-aways that he came up huge on. He also had a first period group of saves where he stood on his head on about 6 or so shots that were blasts in which I watched one of our veteran d-men never attempt to make contact with any of the Icehawks standing in front of the net. Tim Haun is playing very well and I think deserves a shot at staying on this team.
