Tailing the Komets

Management wrapping up details

Komets General Manager David Franke said he hopes to announce the third goaltender coming to training camp by Wednesday, but it won't be Larry Sterling.

``I have no interest in him,'' Franke said.

Other than Artem Podshedyalov who will be in Fort Wayne by Monday night, everyone else should be here in time for Sunday's team meeting. Podshedyalov has a meeting at the embassy in Moscow on Saturday.

It shoulds like more than half the team is already in town and could be skating at Canlan over the next few days. Players like Dustin and Bryant Molle, Chris Auger, Todd McIlrath and Dan LaPointe are already here and Brett Smith and

Bennefield is here. Auger is here. Lapointe is here. McIlrath is here. Molle bros are here. Beech and Smith in tomorrow.

We're gettign everyting organziaed. All the paower work we have to do. Insruance standpoint, TC roster. Right now there's nothing going on with players other than the last goalie. That stuff is over with. Now it's just new taking care of any problems if they get stopped over the boarder.

A good goalie is better with good D. Bouch didnt beat those other netminders, the team did. too much credit goes to the goalie, yet sometimes not enough. comes with the gig... and larry is still a headcase.

Boone, I agree, but the bottom line is the goalies go head to head. They have the biggest impact on the game. And you're saying Pt Huron didn't have great teams? Flint? K-Zoo?

PinkWarrior, I'm glad to find out you were just being sarcastic with your comment. However, when writing your comment, you had definitly set a tone. The tone was pretty direct and I think one would have a hard time trying to note anything sarcastic hidden in it.

KometKrazy, I want to thank you for your kind comments. I try to think everything out before I post, but sometimes my fingers type before my mind thinks. You are quite correct, I too, am very ready for the puck to drop. Thanks again.

Bluelinebaby, if you could sit down and visit with George, you would find him a very, very kind person. For some it will be hard, maybe impossible, to seperate his off ice, post career, troubles. Not for me, though, as he has, and still remains, a loyal friend who still takes the time to inquire about me, and my family after all of these years.

GameMisconduct, you mentioned ITB. I know that it is another hockey site. Do you have its "address" handy?

The one thing PinkWarrior may have been correct about is maybe I do live in a hole.

This morning when I left my "hole", I saw my shadow. You know what that means? Five more days 'till training camp!!

Blake, once again I have posted and it did not show up.

Do you have me on double secret probation?

No, Alan, I'm not sure what's going on. Believe me, you'd know if you were on double secret probation. LOL.

Alan, ITB = www.intotheboards.com

Not sure if you will like it, it tends to be very over the top as far as comments go, can be very hostile, and is very arguement driven... I havent visited there in quite some time; but it doesnt sound like its changed much...if any...

That forum is the biggest piece of garbage around.

Nolan is younger, better and if he wants to will be playing long after Boucher is in his second career. This team would do just as well if not better with Nolan in goal and could be better for the next 3-4 years with him.

Alan, I wouldn't even waste my time with ITB. Many years ago it was a very good forums with MANY fans from all over but within the past few years it's really gone down hill and just become a pit of bitter QC fans who blame Fort Wayne and the Franke's for their decline.

Thanks Dean Wermer, uh, I mean Blake.

Thanks to JR1 and Snuff for the information on the ITB location.

For those like me, who like debating, talking, and finding out more of the 2011-2012 K's, the time is almost here for non-stop information. There wil be stories about the new players, cuts made from camp, and new additons brought in to be announced. Camp starts next Monday, then two exhibition games, then five more days of camp before Opening Night. Mix all of that with the Komets preview section and a whole lot of stuff will be coming our way.

( My apologies if this post is a duplicate. I hit the wrong key and everything disappeared. So I started over. I wasn't lying when, in a previous post, I said sometimes my fingers type before my mind thinks!)

I'd be interested to know what you all think about the training camp roster. I know some are looking for more toughness and some are looking for a power forward to attack the net. Maybe those things are already here with some of the young kids. Any opinions?

Lets go Komets.

Heard Kent H. on radio today say there was exciting Komet news on a signing coming soon. He couldn't announce it until the I's were doted and T's were crossed. Any guess who it might be. But he did say that all Komet fans will be thrilled. Hmmmm!!

LOL, Alan, about your shadow and 5 more days until training camp. Awesome!! I am so happy it is October and that I lived to see another one, it's almost not even funny.

And I'm always up for talking to good people. I hardly ever get to sit at the rink, I'm always stopping to talk to the other parents, which I love to do! Good to know that George is not all that the media has often portrayed him to be, good, bad, or otherwise. Isn't that so often the case? It made for some "good" stories, I suppose. But I'm glad he has a good friend to stick by him. Everyone needs those. :)

Alan go to FinishYourCheck.com where there is no Quacky. And CHLforums.com always needs more Komet fans. At least ones that actually post and not lurk.

Is that your "expert" opinion on the matter Snuf? Just like it was a mistake to bring Chaulk back...you say it like it's fact. I look at track records. From college right to the pros. Overall Boucher's is better. Hands down.

When insulting someone, its always good to proof read.

RunningKomet
Thu, 10/06/2011 - 6:38am

Proofreading is overrated.

Just kidding, JM. Look anywhere and yule sea that unfortunately people don't care about getting things write or checking they're wurk. The papers are obviously unedited, online news reports are obviously unedited, and even textbooks in skules are obviously unedited two.

I won't get into it, because usually when you or I (or anyone else) mentions grammar, we get ripped for knowing it above a 6th grade level. It is what it is, but one thing is for sure, it is entertaining deciphering what people mean.

Mr Snufflupugus

Thanks Y2K for the forum information you've given me. I sincerely appreciate it.

BluelineBaby, I absolutely, positively agree with you 100%. I will never agree with some of the stuff he has done, but I will always count him as a friend and he can always count on me as being his friend.

Hey KometKrazy, I've got a guess on who the signing may be. I have absolutely no information on this, but the way you stated that Kent H. said all Komet fans will be "thrilled", I'm guessing Justin Hodgman.

God forgive me, but I do love the smell of new komet signings in the morning.
