So, I guess the million dollar question is this, Do the K's have an open spot right now he can slide into or does someone have to spend some time on the IR/get traded/or released?

The K's will have to make room to activate Mitch. My guess is that they will put someone on the 30 day IR until they are positive he can fulfill a role on the hockey club. That is the safe way to protect themselves. When is Huk able to come off IR?
