Tailing the Komets

Monday's story

Great job this weekend. This team is really confident right now and have 17 games left to really make a statement. Would love to see them get up to 3rd or 4th in the standings to get home ice in the first round. But the way they are playing it might not matter too much. Anyway did anybody watch the Blackhawks-Penguins game yesterday? The announcers mentioned the Komets of the CHL and I didn't quite hear the beginning of the conversation. Whatever it was its nice the Komets get mentioned nationally. Keep it up Komets.

Yep, that was Doc. He grew up studying Chase and every once in a while, he will give a shout out to the Komets or Chase durning a game. It's very cool!

Great effort. Everyone was hustling. Played great postional hockey.

Ratchuk is a great addition and brings a lot to the table. He looks real confident with the team and the team looks to have real confidence in him.

Now the challenge for this team is to not get too full of themselves. They need to work hard every shift and keep playing smart.

Nice weekend. Keep denting the twine.

It was also "Hockey Day in America", so Doc was mentioning all kinds of hockey going on in the country yesterday. They also had some good stories about local youth leagues, tournaments, etc... that happen in the US. They were also talking about the American born players on the rosters, Gretzky's influence on USA Hockey, especially in California when he got traded to LA, etc... It was a good day of hockey and I thought NBC did a great job promoting the sport yesterday. I wish they did that more often...

Would like to see A-Pod inserted back into the line-up soon. Tough for a player to sit too long. I'm thinking he wished he too were waived.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 12:43pm

If you put aPod back in the lineup, who do you take out?

Check this out.

Guessing that if A-Pod comes back into the line up, someone else will develop a hangnail for a while. Sure would not want him playing on another team against us.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 2:00pm

Patrosso-can aPod play along side Chaulk/Lardner?
Leo-sat for extended time. Needs to be on the ice
O'Conner-is streaky, but has played very well lately.
Lapointe-aPod can't play center.
PC-He's the bobblehead... but could he use a weeks rest?
Curdy-Is his back hurting again?
Mirasty-Dude has his own intro..I dont think he sits.

I just don't see who sits unless they think aPod can take Patrosso's spot on the first line. Chaulk and Lards are great defensively..it might work. But is it worth it? PC could take a weekend off to rest.. Maybe they activate Warner too and sit a defenseman?

aPod has some skills, I just don't see who he's better than on the current roster.

The only arguement that we're going to get is that Mirasty isn't "needed"... I still don't think that a guy gets brought in, shirts get printed, a new intro get produced... then you tell him to go on the IR with a phantom injury..

Jake Pence is now a Dayton Gem.

Patrosso has 9 points over his last 10 games and is second on the team at plus-7. He ain't sitting.

APod isn't going anywhere.

For one thing, if he did, the team that picked him up would have to totally refile all his immigration paperwork which is a pain in the butt because of the hefty cost at this time of the season.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 2:24pm

JM, who are you sitting to bring Warner back???

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 2:53pm

Marc Brandtmueller or Andy Desmonds

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 2:56pm

please don't bring back warner. i am happy just they way things are.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 2:59pm

haaaaaaaaaaaaahhhaaaaa JR. you are going to get bashed for that one. crawl in a hole NOW!!

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 3:05pm

Darn the bashing, full speed ahead!!! :)

Anyone else notice the pictures that the CHL uses on thier main page when talking about the previous nights games always seem to have last years photo's (for the K's)???

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 3:14pm

any video of the Panckiweicz (I know I probably spelled it wrong) incident? The CHL does have some ABYSMAL officiating. It's because the officials are still in high school, some of them look really young.

I'm not in favor of sitting anyone to bring Warner back, I just wonder if his "injury" will keep him out the rest of the season? Then again, I might consider giving Guy a weekend off as the regular season winds down, I'd much rather go into the playoffs with a rested Guy Dupuis.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 3:59pm

Panckiweicz was a heck of a player. He's proven to be an idiot behind the bench.

People bashed MacMillan for the Odessa incident, but Colorado has proven to be a classless group.. I can't wait to see them come to town at the end of the season.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 4:35pm

You see stupid blowups similar to this alot from guys in thier first year or two behind the bench after thier playing days are over.... Some guys dont know how to make the transtion, some guys do and some guys make the transtion too early...

Fans were having fun with his wardrobe malfunction...lol

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 4:57pm

Thanks, GM!!

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 6:00pm

He's no Ned Braden...

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 6:09pm

Wonder if he got that from Farrish somewhere along the line?

Dave added the words, "If you're going to **** me at least let me take my clothes off first."

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 7:57pm

Oh, I thought the discussion was about the alpaca extravaganza advertisement next to the colorado assistant article.

Mon, 02/21/2011 - 8:42pm

Now that is hilarious....
