Omigod, who knew?
Unpredictable gas prices have sent car shoppers turning to small, fuel-efficient vehicles, but a crash study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is warning that saving money at the pump could come at a greater cost in the event of an accident.
The institute, in a new round of crash tests, took three 2009 micro- and mini-models

Even CAPTIAN OBVIOUS smiled at THIS one, Leo...!
;)
Funny how so many people don't understand that every action has a reaction. Smaller cars=more deaths in crashes.
Not exactly rocket science.
Leo, brilliant job of taking extreme environmentalism to its logical conclusion. I've tried using a similar argument on behalf of complete legalization for all controlled substances so that Darwinism might be be allowed its full effect and thereby relieve population pressures. To that I add the economic benefit of reducing law enforcement costs (since presumably the junkies would be dead before making it to jail), as well as the environmental benefit of lowered transportation emissions currently attributable to making the busts. Of course, some of the economic benefits would be offset by the state subsidy required to provide the free pharmaceuticals. But FairTax advocates would be gleeful to see the drug trade finally brought to heel as a source of government tribute, as would voters on the winning side of the recent NS poll concerning pot legalization.
But for some reason the plan won't sell. I guess some folks just have no sense of twisted humor.
