Fort Wayne Youth Hockey is trying to put together a list of area players who advanced from the program to play at the junior, college or professional level. I've got all the guys who played for the Komets and the obvious ones like Fred Knipscheer and Dale Purinton. What they need help with is all the guys and a few gals who played in juniors or college. I don't think they are counting club hockey. Anyone got any suggestions?

I know DJ Fisher, whose family used to sit behind me, played juniors. I believe he played in Indy.
I would also ask the Chin family since they're still involved in youth hockey and probably know most everyone.
I know DJ played for Toledo Waleye. Also Rick Ganu played juniors in Wisconsin.
Blake you all have Tim Knisely and Bobby Zimmerman Jr who played Juniors in MN for Steve Jenisek, they played for the Heartland Winterhawks.
Miles Johnson is currently playing for the "A" level Arizona Redhawks of the Western States Junior Hockey League. Not sure if he went through Ft. Wayne youth hockey, but I know 2 years ago, he played high school for North Side, I believe, and his 2 younger brothers played FWYH travel. The whole family moved away after the 2008-2009 season. I assume to be together while Miles was playing Juniors.
D.J. Fisher did NOT play for the Toledo Walleye. He played for the Toledo Cherokee, which is in the CSHL.
Thanks Ashley my husband plays with DJ sometimes and he corrected me this morning. It is the Cherokee.
Dave White (former NS goalie) played juniors up in Minnesota and Cody Hess (played w/NS) is currently playing juniors also. I can't remember where right now.
Adam Logue grew up in FWYH and played 4 years with IU.
Cort Bullock played Juniors in Canada i believe and is currently paying college in the west.
I think Paul DeJarnett played juniors or college as well. I know he played with Rick back in the day. I am sure there are more from that era to. But no one comes to mind at the moment.
Rick Wynn & Rich Primeau both played jr's. in Can.
The Schrock guys on on this one--Lincoln Sr. who did lots of fundraising for the youth groups, Lincoln K who was part of it all, the Warner's, Larry Herb, etc. etc. etc. Get ready for a list--also lots of HS coaches--Great Effort and will be very interesting--
i heard from some people the komets were thinking about being a forum team for the redwings. is this true?

My brother Jeff Loser played in juniors in Des Moines and played at Ohio State and also in Platsburg State NY wining the Div2 championship

Blake...if you do want names from college club teams (ACHA), let me know...I'll give you the names of my teammates when we played at IPFW together back in 2001-02.
