Tailing the Komets

New defenseman at practice

Defenseman Dustin Molle, 25, was at Komets practice today. He's 6-2, 212-pounder, who played 18 games with Idaho of the ECHL the last two seasons. He had one goal and two points this year in 16 games with the Steelheads. He qualifies as a developmental player, but the Komets have not signed him yet.

Congrats to the Russians for winning World Juniors. And Happy Epiphany. Anyone need 12 gently-used drummers drumming?

Gently used? :-)

Bummer about the Russians but they earned it so I'll share in your congratulations to them.

We're all human beings, no matter where we're from. Besides, I just watched the latest "Star Trek" movie again, so I keep picturing the entire team saying, "Ensign authorization code Nine-Five-Wictor-Wictor-Two."

Chaulk is 34, right?

Stop bickering about BWs....he is not worth all of this talk, really....you know?

Can anyone here imagine if there would have been a blog when Sean Evans played for the Komets......

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!

Blake would have had to automatically ban anyone who mentioned his name.....LOL

Couple of quick thoughts:

The team has been playing much better. The games are much more entertaining. We have some pretty fun guys to watch out there. We are in a different league this season.

Colin Chaulk is a stud. I don't care what anyone says. My opinion. The guy flat out gets it done on the ice.

Bob Chase said it perfectly the other night on Kent Horman's Sportswise when he basically said......these guys on this team have had every opportunity to step up and be the Man, the leader of this team, and Bob thinks that lots of guys actually hid from the opportunity instead of embracing it.

Bob also eluded to the fact that there was/is a problem in the locker-room that Bob said he does not want to call the individual out, but it has taken its toll on this team from the start of the season until now....

And he said Colin Chaulk coming in now is what this team needs to get that spark on and off the ice.

I agree with what Bob was saying.

Another point Bob made about things.....the difference he sees between the CHL and the IHL we have seen the past 3 years and even back to the UHL:

For the most part in the CHL you get early 20's guys in this league out of college looking to try their luck at moving up in the hockey system, they do it for 2-3 years, and then move on with life for the most part.....so you have young guys playing hard everynight trying to make their mark.

In the IHL you had some comfortable Minor Hockey Life-ers that didn't always go hard, and now Bob says....these guys have found out this season that you can't go out and give half hearted efforts and expect to win in this league. Guys will skate past you, over you, and to the net before you knew what hit you.

Bob was on fire on that show.

Sorry for the Alan like novel.

I think the eye-poking is getting old.....I think we all love the Komets, right?

Let's move on.

Go Komets!!!

Great post hit.. These are the type that I enjoy reading. I think without mentioning names that the locker room thing was cured a few weeks ago and I would gurantee with chaulk in the room it definately will be cured if it wasn't already

C or an A on your jersey only says who can talk to the refs during a penalty being called and etc. Anyone in the locker room can speek there mind with or without an. C or A on there jersey! I think Chaulk getting the C before he has played a game is B.S. it like giving the Frankes the G.M of the year before the first game was played this year. Just another kick in the teeth to all the other players on the team! Great work again!

I don't know if anyone has seen this yet but it looks like some strong words coming out of Dayton again... Almost sounds like a "bounty" is going to be put on someones head.

Very irresponsible writing effort in the Dayton paper. Hope the proper officials have been made aware of this. This writer may not be a direct employee of the Dayton Daily News; however, the paper has approved including this article in their newspaper. Very anxious about the Saturday game.

I think that this David DiCenzo needs a pacifier, him and Gratz both. Maybe they're just teething? I'm just trying to suggest something that would sooth their crying.

Maybe they want blood. How about a MMA fight? You guys can surely find tickets to one. I'm sure there's a fight around there in Dayton somewhere, the way you guys talk. And by the way you talk, fighting is the only solution, so it seems..to you. New theme song for you two, "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction".

They must be mouth breathers.

Did that cross a line anywhere?

"Sorry for the Alan like novel"?

Hit, your post was well written, informative, and interesting. The length of the post didn't bother me at all.

However please take my praise with a grain of salt. After all everyone knows that I am a jelious moran.

Dayton is struggling attendance wise so some of the hype can be marked up to and excused as a means to get more fans into the stands for the game. This "contributing writer" is obviously being used as a marketing tool by the team. Back in the old IHL Indianapolis did some of the same.

I do think this writer has gone too far with some of what he said. For example: "Hockey has its own brand of justice. If a player or team takes certain liberties, they eventually have to own up to it. If they don

Wow.

We put Legault on the IR?

Not that he is the answer to a team plotting and pre-meditating to injure our "skill players"......

But who is going to stand up to the cheapshots?

They just said in that article they are coming.

How will the CHL respond to this?

Wow.
