The Komets had right wing Marc Rechlicz and left wing Zak Ray at practice today, and Komets general manager David Franke said the team expects Rechlicz to be in the lineup Friday night.
Rechlicz, 6-4, 193 pounds, played for Quad City last year, scoring one goal and three points in 68 games with 170 penalty minutes. The Komets tried to sign him over the summer, but he's been with Wheeling of the ECHL. Ray, 6-1, 196, is a rookie who scored eight goals and 14 points last year with Oakville of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He has not been playing this season so he needs to get in shape, and the Komets need to get his immigration papers figured out before he can sign.
Danko Mironovic sat out Friday's game with a thumb fracture which has been bothering him since training camp. He's been trying to play through the fracture.

I don't mind Rechlicz. He isn't afraid to throw em. I agree with others.....we need goals. But it doesn't hurt to have some toughness too.

Rechlicz stinks. At least Legualt has already wormed his way into our hearts with that sweet mohawk.
I question the logic. We've scored the fewest goals in the league. And we get a guy that scores one every 60 games?
Rechlicz could barely hold his own with 5'10" MacMillan.. Why are we exchanging one average enforcer for another?

Actually, Burgee mentioned how he jokingly calls Guy "Captain Hook" during our GOTW interview last Halloween. It was at the 5:20 mark if you don't believe me.

P.S. I still think we should give mitebite a little bit of a break here. He is a good guy.
Nothing is official yet, so I can't say that he IS coming in for sure. It is very possible that it falls thru and he never steps 1 foot on Fort Wayne ice. Also, he may not be a true center but rather a winger by nature. From the few games I saw of him the the IHL, he would be a great addition. Fast, playmaker, and can bury the puck..I think he would be a great add, much more so then the 2 they just signed. Seems like he would excel in the CHL...if we can get him in under the cap.
