Nipping at NASA's ears

I am no particular fan of NASA, but I do believe in government support of space exploration, and NASA is the only space exploration we've got right now. So I'm particularly upset -- though not terribly  surprised -- that out-of-control congressional spending on earmarks might be threatening some of NASA's projects:

The price tag for politicians' "pork" has grown so large that NASA may have to delay the new spaceships and rockets needed to replace the space shuttles, to be retired in 2010.

Instead, NASA will pay for:

Needless to say Mark Souder is a big government Republican.

He is also a flip-flopper...

It is maddening watching him flip-flopping on so many issues...

I gave the voters an alternative to spending, but the majority wanted to keep the same tax and spend guy. Maybe another two years of deficits, higher energy costs while subsidizing ethanol, increased number of identity thefts, more government intrusion into our private lives and oh yes, sending Social Security another $7,600 of their hard earned dollars and getting nothing for it will cause some in 2008 to rethink who they voted for in 2006.
