Tailing the Komets

northstarsvbears_23may_0035

Brett here from the Sydney Bears Ice Hockey team in Australia - the team that Nick Boucher played on this past summer.

Nick was simply amazing in net for us this year, not only was he an awesome player but all around great guy. We have never had an import of his caliber or class come down here before and properly will never be able to find another one like him in the future.
The reason I'm writing to you is we have 10 of Nick's authentic game jersey's still left to sell (our manufacture stuffed up and made double the amount we needed).
They are available in 2 different colours Red and White, the size on all of them is XXXL as they are authentic game jersey's.
Attached are a few photos of the jersey's and Nick in action wearing them.
Each jersey costs $130 AUD which includes postage and handling to the Fort Wayne area (super cheap for a authentic game jersey).

Email address is "contact@bearsden.com.au"

Got my game-worn version last week. It's awesome. Quality is excellent. Everything is sewn on/embroidered - not screened. They originally sold these to raise money to fly Nick back to N America. The team uses Paypal so easy/secure to pay

There were a lot of seats cheaper than $250... I dont blame you though, if I want to watch some guys beat the crap out of each other Ill just head to the south side of Fort Wayne after 11:00 PM.

Gee, RK, I didn't know Rick? O'Shay's Irish Pub (Broadripple), Pierre's, and The Latch String all moved here on the south side.

These are cool. I might actually break down and get one.... if the boss of the house says I can lol

Blake... just out of question, were the Komets at all concerned about him playing another "season" in the summer.
Just from a standpoint on the "what if" he got hurt?

My fault, Steve. I didnt realize that there were only three crime locations in the fort. By pure statistics, Im sure youre absolutely correct, there probably are a lot more assaults, murders, robberies, drug busts, and rapes on the north side of town than the south. Police headquarters probably doesnt have bullet holes all over the outside of it from people shooting at it from the apartments across the street either. I know after having you set me straight, Id much rather be driving down Pontiac or Hanna after 11 at night as opposed to being trapped in the high-crime hood area of someplace on the north side like Dupont or Wallen Road. Maybe if Im lucky I can beat the rush and buy a house near where Southtown was, or maybe even McMillan park! Well, if they can figure out how to protect the kids playing pee wee football from the bullets flying on the other side of the park...

Hey RK, take it easy man. Don't just lump the South all together. I live South, and I have no problems what-so-ever with crime. I lived North at one point, and I had my car broken into at least 3 times and vandalized a few others. I understand there are some urban areas in what you classify as South that aren't nice areas.....but let's not just say South, because there are very very nice areas South that are perfectly fine, and I chose this particular area because of the safeness and the location.

Steve has a point, Pierre's has shootings alot. I work near there and there are stories about every weekend that something has happened there.

Things happen everywhere.

I just caution you in lumping the "South" all together and labeling it has bad......because Steve's point is just the same. No matter what direction you point, there will be problems.

Back to hockey. LOL

RK, the whole North side of the Fort isn't Dupont and Wallen roads no more then the South side is East Pontiac or Hanna. That's the point I was making, you shouldn't lump the whole South side into a section that is actually South East. In fact, if you go as far South or South East as Dupont Road is North you'll be on a farm which I guess can be a scary place for a city slicker, especially at night.

To make the point the three places I mentioned have more then their share of assaults and fights, the two things you were talking about watching, and they're on the North side.

Heck, here on the South side rather then waste time with the preliminaries we're more likely to just bust a cap on you and be done with it..... :-)

Haha! About the farm: I grew up on one and would do anything to get back out there. I HATE living in town, north, south, east, or west side. I also agree on Pierres. That place is lame as hell and if it up and disappeared, Id be smiling ear to ear. Southwest is nice. Again, wouldnt want to live there, but Ive always been under the impression people living in town just cant afford land or are too lazy to drive more than 10 minutes to get anywhere. After I get married, it's 20 acres, no sirens, no traffic, and no neighbors!! The countdown is on, 18 months to go...

Im sorry to all the upstanding citizens on the south side. None of you were who I was referring to in the first place, but some apparently didnt get that.

Can we keep it to hockey?

Holy cow, we're now arguing pugilistic geography and its criminal impact on the city.....

This is obviously the Frankes fault also!!!! I'll add it to the list....

Hey folks! The geographic center of the city is Hobson and the Coliseum Blvd. That makes the Memorial Coliseum (The Jungle) in just about the center of the Fort. Parkview Field is in the south. This will be your geography lesson for today. Oh yes! the FWPD building has been shot at by the fine upstanding people in the apartments to the north. Just makes you want to go there and get a copy of your police report.

I was terrified that I was going to get shot in the back when I went down there to get my permit to carry... How ironic would that have been??

Matt: If you're looking for just hockey, you've come to the wrong place, as you'll see. There are birthdays, redheads, pills, suntan lotion, birthdays, football pictures, children's statistics, vacation plans, and now demographics on this site. Oh, and I forgot bikini pictures.

I keep hearing "Welcome to the Jungle" being played more and more on the radio. Subliminal campaign this year??

Mon, 09/27/2010 - 12:27pm

As long as it's not Burgee or DSchebig in the bikini! LOL!

Blake, would'nt it be something if tonight's MNF ends in a tie?

Dschebig
Mon, 09/27/2010 - 12:55pm

Bob..Don't worry I will never get that drunk. Burgee now that is a different question. Played golf with him Saturday. He made one very good shot the whole round and now he wants a PGA card. It was within 2 feet of the cup and he still didn't win "closest to the pin".

Mon, 09/27/2010 - 1:08pm

No, Bob! It absolutely would NOT BE SOMETHING I WOULD ENJOY!

In all truthfulness, I think Green Bay is awesome this year, and I don't trust the Bears yet. I'm so used to getting let down in big, BIG games like this. I'll be watching with one hand over my eyes. LOL.

Aaron Rodgers with 4 TD passes=28-23 WIN /Steve??? how could you forget the "bikini" pictures????? Dang I thought that was the high light of the summer= untill the "GOON" shows up. Rapid City signs another fighter.

Yeah, I know mightbite. Like I said, maybe getting old.

Something I found while looking for something else.

Pascal Rheaume is now the assistant coach for the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL. They have a center named Sean Couturier who is currently their leading scorer. In 6 games he has 7 goals and 4 assists for 11 points. He is in 3rd. place for goals scored in the QMJHL and 8th in points. Sean is from Phoenix AZ and is the only American playing for the Voltigeurs.

Schebig needs to change his blog handle to King Kong, the man can drive a golf ball but I thought you were only allowed to tee a ball up once per hole, never played with anyone that teed it up in ALL the fairways. He did spill me out of the golf cart twice, I think he did it on purpose.

A few more days until the nellies come out and tell us how bad we are, I'm calling it early, Komets finish no lower than runner up.

That's what I'm afraid of, Snuff. I'm enjoying these first three wins, but I don't think they are really all that good. Sometimes it's true, you'd rather be lucky than good, like the Colts when they won the Super Bowl. Ha!

Da Bears were very lucky last night! Your correct Blake they are not that good. (yet)

You're right Blake. The Colts were lucky that Grossman was the worst starting QB to ever play in the Suberbowl. :-)

Grumble, growl, bitterness. And that Bob Sanders actually played a whole game for once.

Big John, where the heck have you been?
