Oh, who am I kidding. Heck yes, I'm going to brag. This is from our season preview. Not bad, huh?
Blake's predicted order of finish
IHL regular season
1. Fort Wayne: Komets have best coaching, depth and leaders. Can they survive injuries again?
2. Muskegon: Lumberjacks celebrate 50th with league's top forward line. Is the defense better?
3. Port Huron: IceHawks have experience and gotten better on defense. It's up to Larry Sterling.
4. Flint: Generals have a few stars, and Muzzatti will keep building lineup. Need defensive help.
5. Bloomington: Besides Booras and Jas, PrairieThunder need two more scorers to make playoffs.
6. Dayton: Good defense and Mior is solid, but who is going to score for the Gems? Help wanted.
7. Quad City: Anzalone may be adding to his roster throughout the first half. Good luck, Seabass.

*pats Blake on the shoulder*
I wouldn't expect anything less out of somone that's been doing this job for 52 yesrd, not bad, not bad at all
Just read the Savage files and sounds like Mike Franke showed his back-side in the Press box. Man oh man. You would think that it would have been a happy night in the press box tonight with both of the Fort Wayne supported teams doing well and making it into the playoffs. If Fort Wayne money isn't helping support the Generals thru this season, and you call it IHL money....where in the heck do you think the IHL is getting the money from.....maybe from Dayton??? LOL
Should be an interesting post season leading into a very interesting off season. This might be the last time we see these 4 teams together ever. Think about it Flint...Muskegon...Port Huron.....Fort Wayne.
Sounds like Flint is done after this year....NAHL is in and Perani Arena is done with the IHL. I think Flint will be the final straw that broke the IHL's back. Port Huron will be forced out now. And you really can't have a 4 team league...can you???
I am excited for playoff hockey...I am a hockey fan of course.
This will be a long and eventful summer though. Let the spin cycle begin, after the Playoffs of course.
Blake, Blake, Blake... Don't you know that when you're right, no one will remember. And if you point it out, people just resent it. ;)
Yes, mightbite said bloomy would win it all. BigSnake & Gomez would get long suspensions= 50% right.
Nice predictions Blake.
I thought Bloomington would do better myself; but cant predict players heading back overseas, visa problems, and a nutball coach...lol
You know what I'd like? I'd like for someone to predict when the Komets will score their next power play goal!
Hey, one more thing. Does anyone find it kind of embarrasing when the Komets make a big deal about a game being a "sellout" when there are at least a thousand empty seats? I know, I know, people are going to say it is based on tickets sold, not tickets used. However, on a season ticket exchange night those tickets "exchanged" had already been bought and counted toward the attendance of the game they were not used. For instance, I exchanged 6 tickets for last nights game. Since they had already been bought, they were counted once already.
The crowd last night was one of the worst crowds of the year as far as what my daughter likes to call "hockey ettiquete". Getting up and wondering around while play was going on, standing up and visiting with people around them, and just a general ignorance of common sense and manners. Please Franke's, do not hold a s-t-e night on the last game of the season again.
Al Sims really shook up his lines last night He mixed and matched all night long. You guys think he did it to try to find some fire between people, or do you think he did it just to confuse Muzatti and Flints matchups?
I can't believe all the people whining about season ticket exchange night. Its the exact same crowd for sellouts the first game of the season and new years eve. There is no difference other than those 2 games I mentioned where they buy their ticket.
This whining comes across as very selfish, do you think you are entitled to empty seats around you?
I would think as a season ticket holder you would exchange your tickets and maybe find a worthy underprivileged group or a group of kids, a church group, some of our military hero's, to give those tickets too, to maybe find some new fans.
Some of these things you people bring up just blow my mind
Ok Komets Fans...Here is a challange for you...Since everyone says we have the biggest fan base...Lets put our money where our mouth is....I got my tickets for Port Huron....anyone else got theirs??? Its not a big Barn...so Lets Make it The Jungle "North"...Let Go Komets!
Janice, I was planning to; but am going in for some surgery on wednesday and will be out of commision for about a month.... So you'll have to be extra loud for the both of us...lol
I'll be cheering thru the B2 (if working) and/or radio rinkside!
What did they do to make a big deal about the sellout? Announced via the scoreboard , which happens everygame, box office posted the sign on the doors?
What's the difference between this sellout and a minnesota wild sellout which I have been a part of and percentage wise the wild have the same amount of empty seats?
Other than to slam the komets for every little thing I really don't understand why you post that stuff.
You are going to get a general ignorance of common sense and manners wherever you are. $280 ticket at a colts game, I experience that, its frustrating but in reality what are you really going to do about it to make the situation change? Nothing, because that same $280 seat I had 3 times had different people in front of me in my aisle that did the same things.
I will be plenty loud for you JR...Hope the surgery goes well.
Burgee: We must have similar seats at the Colts games, but I've never really experienced too much bad luck down in Indy. Usually there is an inverse relationship with ticket price and drunken idiots, meaning the more money the ticket is, the less people are willing to go just to get drunk and walk around during the game. I don't think people really want empty seats around them, but would rather just like people to follow the rules, or at least see them enforced. I'll admit though, other than the stupid thunder sticks, those sitting around us really weren't bad at all. I like seeing the Jungle packed with people.
You seem a bit grumpy today, Burgee. Is it a case of the Mondays? Be happy, the playoffs are here!
Grumpy is a good description, Frozen Water.
Burgee, I don't care how the Minnesota Wild count their tickets! I don't care about your personal experience at a Colts game. The fact that it happened three times to you with different people around you just proves my point.
"Other than to slam the Komets for every little thing I really don't understand why you post that stuff." First of all, I can express whatever opinion I want to and I don't think I need permission from you. Second, I don't slam the Komets and am, in fact, a pretty good supporter of the team. This subject was dealt with in another thread and I just added to it. Thirdly, posting 10,408 IT"S A SELLOUT, on the scoreboard when you have a thousand empty seats and have counted tickets twice just doesn't add up to the "character" of the Komet hockey organization. (By the way, sometimes a "sellout" is 10,504, sometimes 10,400, sometimes 10,408). Just what constitutes a sellout anyway?
I find it real interesting that you can have such meaningless posts as "tanning", "foo-foo drinks", "Jim Hawthorne crushes", and then come on and criticize other posts.
Take it somewhere else.
If I could give me 2 cents for what it is worth. 1st, it was season ticket exchange night, I had in my section alone, someone who turned in 35 of their unused season tickets and gave them to some obnoxious teenagers, I was with another person on saturday night down getting tickets who got the last 3 tickets for last nights game. And yes they were exchanging their unused season tickets. So Yes in the aspect of a "sell-out" it was just that. Now to get everyone to show up and use all those unused season tickets is another thing. If they do not have anymore tickets to sell to the public it is a sell out, regardless of how many people actually show up. It just kinda sucks that people who have tickets don't care to show up.
It blows my mind how many season tickets go un-used....
I know...what is the point in getting season tickets if you have 35 unused tickets to exchange at the end of the season....I had maybe 2 and that is only because one of my kids had a sleep over or something.
I can accept the fact that I only pay for my 4 seats and only have control of them.
I think the idiot ratio is about the same every night. Corporate season ticket holders are the worst. They give free tickets to people who could care less about the game and just want to bring thier brats to eat cotton candy.... but like I said its out of my control. No use getting all worked up over it.
I'm more offended by the "professional" player making obsene gestures on the ice. He's the one I'm paying to watch..
I agree with what JM just said about corporate season ticket holders. Most of the seats around us are corporate seats, and 90% of the time we get people who have never gone to a game in their life, have no idea what is going on, and are just there to get drunk. Now if the people who don't know what is going on want to learn and they ask questions, I have no problem helping them out. But the ones who are just there to be drunk and obnoxious seem to outnumber those by a wide margin. But the usher who usually works my section keeps a close eye on them.
If this post makes no sense, I'm typing under the influence of Vicoden. Just had the wisdom teeth out. Need a nap.
I used to go to get drunk and watch the fights. . . after awhile i got to learn the game better, read up on hockey. . . and now i hardly drink at the games and know whats going on most of the time. so sometimes those casual get drunk fans turn the corner like i did and actually sit and watch the game.
How about all of us that actually go to watch and know the game all sit in one section..that way we never have to worry about our section screaming "hand pass" "wait for a whistle" or "sit down and shut." Games would be so much more enjoyable for me.
Burgee, not all of us sit in the club seats where people getting up during game play doesn't block your view...
WOW surgery for Chuckitt, JR, FMM, mightbite and sorry if I missed anyone.
Somethings in the water...lol
Janice- love the idea, save Mom and me a seat! How 'bout people who yell "SHOOT" on the powerplay? I'm still trying to break Mom (and myself if I'm being completely honest) of that one! Time for more vicoden.
Believe me Alan. I saw your earlier post and it was two sentences, and I thought wow wtg Alan.......Then it was followed by another post by you that was the usual 3 or 4 paragraphs. No0w do not get mad at me here.....but cant we all just get along here?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I enjoy the long posts, gives me something to read and, more times than not, I learn something or at least get another viewpoint of something. I like how Alan is one of the few people who actually explains why he thinks something. Keep it up, Alan (I know you will anyhow). :)
The more horror stories I hear about other sections, the more I like mine. :D And I've even had to deal with an entire bus load of Muskegon fans!
Let's just hope they continue to improve; they're an important micro economic engine for Fort Wayne...
