Notes on Game 3

Are people still sensing the fans being too "overconfident"? Yes I know anything is possible (look at what the K's were able to do last year), but the Komets are looking really good and everyone, not just Boucher, is playing really well. YES I believe the Komets are going to take the Cup for year two, and NO I'm not afraid to say it. Put me in the OVERCONFIDENT group! Whether they win and sweep, or get tripped up and have to win it at home, I still have no doubt the Cup will stay at home. LET'S GO KOMETS!!!

I think some people have to eat some words about how they thought Jim Hawthorne would call this game.

Did Burgee take Hawthorne out to eat before the game considering they are buddies and all? Maybe that's why he wasn't himself tonight. I'd like to go tomorrow night but I figured I'll prop my feet up, watch the B2, and be ready to celebrate when the boys get home in the wee hours of the morning. Too far to enjoy a beer (which I can only do at road games) and then drive back 3 1/2 hours. Everyone be safe going up and back and I'll get ready for my "Sebring Special" haircut here real soon. Question about tonights game:

Did someone throw their stick at the net when MV-L scored the last goal?

I B2'd it and the video was not the best quality and I wasn't paying 100% attention.

Yes, Giudice did, but Hawthorne gave DiPace the misconduct.

Anything can happen, look at Fort Wayne vs. Rockford when we were down 3-0...Can you feel confident? Absolutely, but there's still a lot of hockey left to be played

Blake: Can you use your media connections to get the clowns at the Tin Caps games to announce the correct scores? I was watching the score on my phone with the 120 second refresh feature and after I saw the K's won 5-2, the announcer there said they'd only won 3-2. Of course, being a Komets fan, I had to scream the REAL score. I guess on top of having the best facilities, best team, best beat reporter, best the list goes on... We also have the best PA announcer. Seriously though, if you're going to announce a score, get it right.
OK, another rookie question here. What's this B2? Is there a way to watch the games online??

To be fair, we should all know how sketchy Pointstreak can be. It did say "unofficial final" for more than 10 minutes.

In all fairness to the tin cap clown I though until 5 minutes ago that 3-2 was final score not 5-2. Pointstreak can be sketchy and tonight it was. Can't wait to drive up to tomorrows game. Either way it's going to be a good game. It should be a fight til the end. Let's go komets.

I'm not sure what problems the announcer would have had, I was looking at the score on my cell phone while sitting in the stands at the baseball game. I'd think the Internet in the press box would be better than what I can get on a cell phone, but what do I know?

I the K's do manage to get a win and take the Cup in Muskegon, I have to say this has been an amazing season. Think back to when the team was really struggling and several of us were screaming for blood and roster changes. Then the team really started turning things around, especially on the road. To me, this season seems more fulfilling than last year when the Komets were so dominant at home. Really makes you appreciate the wins and, hopefully, the Cup. GO KOMETS!!!

i thought pointstreak was always slow out of muskegon all year, i think it is the person entering the information on their end or their lack of information in a timely manner.

I'm guessing they are very short-staffed just like most IHL teams and they get to it when they can. Plus, after playoff games especially, there may be more review time. The league will likely change the goal from Curds to Huks today.

The 1972-73 Komet team has always had a special place in my heart. It is probably my favorite Komet team ever. They won the Turner Cup that year by sweeping Port Huron four games to none. The fourth game was played at Port Huron. I remember listening to the game on WOWO and being so excited that they had won. Still, I have to admit that I was kind of disappointed that they didn't get to clinch the championship here in Fort Wayne. I believe the same thing is going to happen tonight. I think every Komet fan probably has the same conflict. Saying all that, however, in no way means that I would ever root for them to lose in order to come back here. You must always strive to win because you never know what crazy things can happen. Does everybody realize that through nine playoff games every forward has scored at least one goal? All year long I have touted the strength, skill, and speed of each line. The consistency has been remarkable. I am sure Muskegon will come out with their guns blazing. They have nothing to lose as every game is now an elimination game for them. Here's hoping the Komets end it all tonight, and if not then we will see everyone at the Memorial Coliseum on Friday.

I'm sick of hearing oh they need to lose and let's win it Friday. There is no promise we will win Friday. If muskegon wins tonight who has the momentum going into Friday. They do so no go out give it the 110% and wrap this up. A championship is a championship no matter what ice you win it on. All of you could look really stupid saying blow it to win at home and we lose it all. So I really hope the komets go out tonight. Give it all and bring home that back to back. I know people will be sad they didn't see it but atleast the cup would be home.
