Tailing the Komets

Notes on Game 4

Muskegon General Manager Tim Taylor estimated there were 650 Fort Wayne fans at the game... The Komets provided a bus so all their office staff and the players' families could attend the game. That's class... Before the game, Komets General Manager David Franke actually warned coach Al Sims about the possibility of Bob Langdon calling a penalty shot... The Komets have out-shot Muskegon 170-108 in the series... After scoring 42 goals in 46 regular-season games, Muskegon's Robin Bouchard has not had a shot on goal the last two games... The Komets have a 48-28 edge in first-period shots, but only a 4-3 edge in goals... Colin Chaulk won 70 percent of his faceoffs and he took probably 75 percent of the draws for the Komets... Otto Boschet and Randy Marcom made the trip to Muskegon to tape the game for Public Access... Gripe all you want about the penalty shot call by Langdon, but Muskegon had only one power-play chance the entire game. The Komets had three... Komets right wing David Hukalo has scored at least a goal in three straight games... This was one of the Komets' all-time greatest playoff games... Muskegon forward Chad Woollard missed Tuesday's Game 3 for the birth of his first child but came back Wednesday to set up the game-winning goal in overtime with a perfect backhand pass to Billy Collins... Since Memorial Coliseum was expanded in 2002, the Komets are 56-9-7 when playing in front of 8,000 or more fans, including 4-1 in the playoffs. They are 22-1-3 when they play in front of 10,000 or more fans at home... Including the playoffs, the Komets have won 13 in a row at Memorial Coliseum. They have won eight playoff games in a row at home... Nobody noticed by Ben Smith reference from Game 3?... There have actually been eight penalty shots in Komets games over the past two seasons... To finish off, Colin Chaulk on Game 5: "We'll make sure we come out hard on Friday and we'll play hard however long it takes." Good night everyone. Hope everyone made it home safe.

I should have prefaced my question before typing the previous post.......

I think the Komets were most definitely 100% trying to win last night. They played hard and played very well. They dominated that game, but it just didn't work-out on the scoreboard in their favor. I am not mad at them at all.

Honestly, I am happy for game 5 because I am a Komet Hockey junkie and ending the season last night would have killed me. I am pumped for tomorrow night. Nothing I have ever witnessed is as exciting as Komet Kup Klinching Games on Memorial Koliseum Ice. The buzz and excitement is second to none in my opinion.

But the Komets played a fabulous game last night.

FuryJack......you dead meat!!! I pitty the foooooo!!!!
