Sorry for my mis-perception, in one of your earlier posts a few months ago I came away with the impression you were employed there as a journalist, hence my snide remark about sweeping the floors!
As to this medium replacing newspapers, it was inevitable. The trick now is, for journalists and their companies to adapt to the new "delivery" system, I think. Business models change as economies do, adaptation and innovation keeps the smart ones alive.
In r/e your last question about getting paid, I'm self employed so I only get paid if I produce, and it's been a challenge the last couple of years. It's eerily reminiscient of the late 70's/early 80's. I've been straight commissioned/ self employed for all of my 51 years on this planet and some years have been good, some bad but I've learned to ride the roller coaster.
