Bob Lakso, one of my favorites from the early '90s, also wore #9. Also, Ron Handy wore Eddie Long's #16, not #12, during the last season of the Welker era. Among Welker's numerous sins was not respecting the retired numbers. Bob Essensa wore Robbie Irons' #30 during the Welker era as well.

I think that Colin Chin wore #11 for a game or two during that era...If he did, it was when he still wore the "A" instead of the "C"

I guess the question then would be which number would they be more easily recognized in? What number did they wear when they made their reputation as a Komet? I didn't try to make this list complete. I'm not crazy enough to try something like that like say... Larry. LOL.

I thought about that Blake and then I realized some of my brain cells have deteriorated due to time and Molson so I said forget doing that! Like Max Middendorf wore 9 and 32, in which number was he more aggressive?? It's up to you all. BTW, this is not Blake's next book. That will be "The IHL and Star Trek: Both better without Pic(k)ard".

Purinton toughest guy to wear #4, my Dad would've made me say that! He loved to tell me all kinds of stories about Cal's fights and blood bouncing on the ice and all that good stuff. Sorry to anyone who's eating dinner...

I don't remember Kelly Miller wearing #15, I remember him wearing #33? Or is that a different guy?

What number did John Ferguson wear? I know I am way to old to ask that. I saw him play but my old brain just can not see his number. Somebody please help. Thanks!

Kelly wore 15 when he first came to FW and then switched to 33 on later visits. It could go either way. Where Dubchak (Neal) when we need him? I'll bet Crazy Old Hockey Fart remembers too.

I thought Camazolla wore #7....

For toughness additions for numbers, would have to add Mike Natyshak #23? and Scott Shaunessy who wore both 23 and 55 if I remember right...

A guy I always liked was Bob Fowler #10? Gritty lil guy who contributed all over the ice...

Byron Lomow 15?

I still do not know what number John Ferguson wore. Can anyone help me out. Actually I am just trying fatten Blakes coin purse. Poor guy really needs the money he gets from all of these hits.

Poking around on eBay while bored at work today I found a Ferguson Canadiens trading card where it looks like he was wearing #22, but it's hard to tell. Meant to post this earlier but didn't want the boss to catch me... ;) Don't know if that helps or not!

There is no need to discuss the greatest Komet ever to wear #15.

Simply put by "Marvelous" Merv! Welcome aboard!!Thank you! I do believe he (John Ferguson) wore #22 as a Canadian. Stubby had a cannon for a shot and he would fly up & down the ice. Those were the days my friend!

Blake--No one wore 22 better, NO ONE! I am not putting down anyone else. There have been a lot of individuals wear number 22. John Ferguson only wore it one year but what he did after left the Fort speaks for its self. What a hockey player he was. What a man he was.

Affirmative on Bobby Fowler for #10. Nice guy who did my at the time young daughter a big favor above and beyond the call.

Did some looking last night to try to find Ferguson's number and couldn't. In what few photos I could find of him in a K's sweater I couldn't see the number. Glad Merv could help.

Steve--Here are a couple names from the past. Shorty Melanchuk and Tommy McVie. Look those numbers up. I know I am way to old to remember their numbers. How about fun names: Dusty Imoo or Peter Ing and Wayne Ego. Maybe Rick Hextall and Doug Evans for tough guys. That will give you something to do. Most of these guys played BBB (Before Blake was Born). Have fun!

During the 58-58 season, Melanchuk wore #4 and during the 71-72 season ,McVie wore #20

I went through and added all the numbers you have suggested. Anybody got any more? I'm sure Dubchak probably has a ton that I've missed.
