Tailing the Komets

The old ball game

Kevin St. Pierre's charity softball game for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation raised approximately $1,000 Sunday at Tillman Park. Frenchy's All-Stars defeated the Fort Wayne Fire Department Team 21-20 in front of a few hundred fans.

``Thanks to everybody who came out and pitched in,'' St. Pierre said. ``I think everybody had a great time and we raised some money for a good cause.''

Guy Dupuis his two home runs and Kelly Miller made a couple of great catches to highlight the action on the field.

Blake how about the important stats? How many bench clearing brawls? Did anyone use their bat as a machete to block home plate?

Sorry couldnt resist :-)

You couldn't have asked for a better day! We had a great time. Hammer was pretty funny on the mic, Miller made some great diving catches, who knew Guy was such a great hitter, why the heck did Kent Harman have his pants pulled up so high?

Fun time all-around! Now lets play some hockey!!!!

Sometimes it's easy to forget what great all-around athletes these guys are, but today it was fun to see. Fire Dept. had some pretty good athletes as well. Guess it pays to work out frequently, or so I've heard.

It was a great event for a great cause. It was actually an exciting game to watch as well, diving catches, home runs, Frenchy falling, etc. It was also nice meeting you Blake.

I just wanted to say it was a great game. nice to see the K's and the fire department put on a good game. It is great to see Kevin St. Pierre doing so much good for the community. Well, Guy is my favorite and boy did he play a good game. Kelly Miller was good also. Talked to the new coach and just can't wait till the season begins. It is going to be great to see the new and the old players come back. I am new on writing on this but I enjoy reading what everybody else says. Again, Thanks Kevin for being such a great guy and the rest of the guys too.

I think Blake should get some of the bloggers together and we could do another event for the juvenile diabetes against Kevins team and let some of us arm chair QB's put our money where our mouthes are...lol

We had a great time at the game also. Once again, great job Frenchy. I also got to meet the new caoch and Drew O'Connell. I thought that the coach was another player that had just come to watch the game. Much younger looking than his pictures really show. Not that he's old. LOL Truly impressed with kelly and Guy. Great effort for a charity game. Hammer was the best on the Mike, and where did kent Horman get those ridiculous pants? Hammer's comment about Harmon's shorts eating him got all of us laughing.

I thought it was alot of fun. I didn't see the coach...well im sure i did but didn't realize it was him. My "shy" son and niece did a nice rendition of "take me out to the ballgame"..although it got drowned out because everyone started yelling when Guy hit one of his homeruns...lol But the kids didn't notice that. Weren't as many people there as I figured would show up, but glad they got as much money as they did.

Wow, write down the date and time. First time I've ever had GQ associated with me. Is that a good or a bad thing?

The only thing you would have to do is stand there and look pretty...you wouldn't have to coach...or for that matter...talk!

Guys, I think this is a wonderful idea and would be a lot of fun, but I have no time to organize, help or whatever right now. I'll be your biggest fan, but I'm afraid that's all I can do for about the next six months. I'm still trying to get our other project for the soldiers off the ground. But other than that, I'm all for it. LOL.

We bloggers will kick the crap out of the Komets!!!! Is that a good thing...this is Softball, Right? Let me re-phrase that....We shall win!!!!

JR
Mon, 09/18/2006 - 8:52pm

Lets see.....I'll start the planning, first we'll need a keg for each base, home plate, both benches......thats 6 kegs so far....we'll use the jeep girls as ball girls...what else will we need???

JR
Mon, 09/18/2006 - 8:58pm

Next, I think I'll borrow something from boxing and have a hottie with a big sign telling us the inning...of course she'll have to as pretty inside as out (notice sensitivity training at work). Then we'll have to fly in Rob Guinn for my team just in case there was a bench clearing brawl, cause well you know, he's forgotten more about bench clearing brawls than the rest of us...gosh I couldnt help myself...

Bats, Mitts, Uni's, Players, the Komets to agree to this, a cardboard cutout of Blake in a GQ look, an Outdoor Softball Information Center, an Enforcer or two, our wives to agree to this, Enema Man as our mascot, Tony E. to make baseball cards of each of us, a guaranteed player contract for each of us, no-trade clauses, Dickie Boy Brosal to throw out the first pitch, FBI to arrest Dickie Boy after the first pitch, Ryan Jorde on our team to scare the other team to death, Rob Guinn to ice the puck, Bob Chase to do play by play, Larry the PA Guy to play the you suck song after we score, I think that about covers it.....anything I left out?
