Alan--I think Booras is a head case. Not what you want in the locker room kind of a guy. Check out his length of time with any team. I don't know that for a fact so I will not go way out on that limb. Just a feeling I have.

Thanks, Dschebig. Always glad to hear from you. Just a question to you or anyone who wants to respond.....I completely agree that no one wants a player who upsets the locker room or a teams' "chemistry", but isn't it possible that a team with as many vets as the K's, with two championships in a row, wouldn't have the leadership to "squash" any potential problems? You know, in any organization I've belonged to, I've always listened to new ideas. However, when a new person insists on doing it their own way ( and to heck with what has worked in the past) I've always stopped them by reminding them that the new person joined us, we didn't join him. Usually that makes the point. If it doesn't, the door leads out as well as in....nice to hear from you Dschebig. I think a mutual friend sat behind me on New Years Eve. His last name is Deering. Hope that helps as I don't want to put his full name on the blog.

I just looked it up and for the record, Jon Booras is a "tweener".

Alan- I only have a few "Good Friends" and he is one. He is a retired US Army Lt. Col. I umpired baseball with him for 25 years. He is/was a very good official. He also does football. Great guy to know. Your point is well taken. I would only say that sometimes they can do more damage than they are worth. Specially, to the young guys before you get rid of them. Again I am not real sure about Booras. Just remember this "You can not unring the bell" :)

I think he was talking which pills he was supposed to take again.

Dschebig, you are very correct about Mr. Deering. He is a wonderful human being and I have had a lot of fun tipping a few while talking college football. (Please don't tell him that I used compliments when speaking of him. It would ruin my reputation!)

Alan--I would be total amazed if you even came close to fooling my friend. He most likely knows you like a book. A ggod book but a book just the same.

3 redheads in the penalty box=Blueline Baby, Wendy, and FiveMinuteMajor....also=TROUBLE.....LOL....thanks for the pardon, Alan, but I'm having fun in there, plus I feel safer from one person's temper tantrum today (could be my own, the day I've had...)!! LOL....

And, DSchebig, I have learned that one day away means you miss a lot, too. And yep, Hawthorne is the name to use there...I just picked any crappy ref, but Hawthorne is a way better "insult" than Langdon most days. Thanks for the correction! It's so good to have a friend on the inside!

You know, that's also a great observation about the head cases in the locker room. I think in theory, our vets should be able to "control" them, but we have one person at my job who came in June and immediately started shouting down the company owner and doing things her way, not the company way. The "vets" there (myself and another girl) tried to gently (then not so gently) explain that this was not her best course of action, yet she persists. I think she'll be gone within another month. Not everyone sees the light, I'm afraid....

I must have missed the attacks on Alan. You guys sound more like Chip N' Dale these days. Oh yeah, I'm bigger than Sarah Spain, Steve Dangle, and Erin Andrews combined. Please save the sarcasm there. I have no delusions about just how insignificant I am.

Actually, I commented to Mark Boner about how quiet it was too, especially considering the size of the crowd, as we were waiting for the period to end. But that's to be expected. A coupe of years ago, I didn't worry when the opposing team scored. I just knew the Komets would find a way to pull it out somehow. That really hasn't been the case, at least so far, this season.

Just a quick comment on "head cases"... Most recently, Leo Thomas and Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn were both considered head cases, which is why both were claimed off the waiver wire (I believe), and they both seemed to work out here. I havent heard any rumors about Booras coming here; but the guy can score...

JR--I don't think Leo Thomas was or is a head case. I beleive his departure from Bloomington was more about salary and personalities..I could be totally wrong. Versteeg-Lytwyn didn't really last very long in Dayton. Your guess about him could be so.

I know that he (Thomas) didnt like showing up for camp on time or letting the team know he was running late and also heard his ego was bigger than the locker room and far bigger than what he was making.... Heard that kinda thing from multiple people on a couple different sites... Just passing along what I heard; and in no way am dogging Leo now because its amazing how a player will walk the line when he's part of an organization that takes care of players while they are with the team.
