Give Warner the assist on the first QC goal. Glad he's back... Luckily he's untouchable. Anyone else would catch the mystery IR flu after not touching anyone on D all night and helping the other team score a goal.

What's up with the ice in front of the Ks bench? Everyone is falling there tonight.

Anybody know anybody on our team who could fire up the fans and the team? Oh, what, we just picked up Jon Mirasty? Did he dress tonight? Oh he did? Oh he sat on the bench the whole night?

Sims blew this game. No Mirasty in the third AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

You know I never understood why you would dress a guy just to sit him on the bench for the majority of the game. It just doesn't make any sense

Yes seems like a waste to me also!

3 Shifts for Mirasty all game. That isn't going to get him in game shape. Oh wait a minute for Sims style of play it will.

Sure is a good think I went to see Mirasty play tonight!

Nick
Fri, 02/11/2011 - 11:20pm

Warner is completely awful. Seriously there is no legit argument for him to play anymore than the PK.
Nick had a bad game. He'll recover.
Mirasty did his job. Just by being in the building, he kept QC from cheapshotting us. Nobody on that team was going to fight him anyway. Sorry if you came just to see him, but get used to him playing 3-4 shifts a game.

You wanted a goon you have one. Goons don't play more than a few shifts a game especially if there is no other goon to fight him. What was he to do tonight? Jump someone from the Mallards because they were outplaying the Komets?

KometsfanX
Fri, 02/11/2011 - 11:46pm

Yeah, actually. He's there partly to energize the team and the crowd. I nodded off twice and why did they hype his signing to play him 3-4 shifts a night?

Steve
Fri, 02/11/2011 - 11:50pm

Let's not forget Patrosso's cough up, DeAngelis had a few, and I could swear that was Leo who made the pass to Blaznek on his "unassisted" goal.

QC has no one for Nasty to go against, they're as soft (if not softer) than the Komets were prior to his signing. I'm sure he will get more shifts tomorrow in Dayton and Sunday against EVille. Had he been out there tonight what was he going to do? Jump someone and get suspended? QC doesn't throw cheap shots like most other teams...they're not really a team that needs policed

Steve
Fri, 02/11/2011 - 11:59pm

You don't get it do you Snuff? Al should have sent him out to jump someone and pick up 17 minutes in penalties and a boot. If the guy he jumps doesn't fight then the Ks are short handed for seven of those minutes. And if he injured the guy he jumped then we could look forward to his suspension.

But hey, it might have energized the team and gotten the crowd into the game for two or three minutes max and wake up one sleeping fan so it would have been worth it.

drouin an curdy they plain suck. they play curdy over apod, give me a break, he is horable.

Three or Four shifts a night won't get him back to game shape. But Jon will get his legs and lungs back. He will soon become a FORCE on the ice hope Sims works him into more than a goon role, like putting him on PP in front like Mac We had a bad night. Lets Start over in Dayton tomorrow GOKOMETS!!!!!

Sat, 02/12/2011 - 12:07am

Yeah, Steve, because every enforcer who checks hard and toughs up a team gets booted and suspended. Give me a break! That's his role! Did this team look alive to you? Did this crowd seem intense? No, there was nothing to look at. So Mirasty can only be on the ice if he a) fights and b) gets ejected and suspended? Come on!!

I agree Dave. Let me preface my statement by saying I wasn't at the game tonight, so maybe the flow of the game didn't dictate or require Mirasty to get into a fight. IMO it makes no sense for him to play only 3 shifts (win or lose). Why was he not be out there being physical and clogging things up?

I know we are soft, but I thought he was signed to bring a physical aspect out there not sit the bench. I guess I was wrong. He must have signed to just be a goon. What a waste.

Maybe he doesn't have his legs. Maybe he isn't on the same page as the rest of the team yet. So someone who is not a Moran like me please explain to me how sitting the bench and not getting a few shifts or at least short shifts each period helps the team.

My question is: why does Reiter not start this game?

What does he have to do to get starts?

I won't go farther....yet.

Curdy has played himself to Section 227....

Let Apod play.

At least Apod on the 3rd line will make plays and act like he wants to play.

It was one loss. I get it.

We will regroup and win the next 2.

OC has stepped it up.....

Curdy has played himself into section 18 in Kalamazooo...

Right on Hit.

I think Curadeau is a talented player, but something is in his head and he just needs a change. I was hoping for the Komets and him that he would get traded so he could have a new start and maybe get back to the way he can play.

Apod is all over the ice. He may not be polished yet, but he puts forth effort and brings energy every shift.

We had a good streak going but all streaks have to end. We just need to put this one bad game behind us. Go K's!

Totally agree on Apod.....he has to play....period.

Cut MC loose....I loved the Curdy of 2 years ago here, this version has a brain cramp right now. I wish I was wrong, I am rooting for him and want him to pull out if this funk....but he is on the turd line under-achieving and holding onto a spot that Apod should be occupying right now.

Apod sees the ice so well and is creative with the puck and with getting his teammates involved.

Sorry if anyone hates my assessment.

Your assessment is right on. Who knows, a week ago I thought that Curadeau and OC needed to go (even though I like them both) but OC has found his game again. Maybe Curdy can do the same, but I see nothing that points that way.

Curd was damaged goods the minute he realized he was never going to stick in the AHL.

Or perhaps he hasn't realized it yet?

Kometsfanx if you want to tell me he should have gone out and thrown some body checks while skating a few hard shifts I can play ball with you.

If you tell me he should go out there and jump a guy for no reason other than to start a fight then you lose me.

A coach with a beast like Mirasty on his team....with a Goalie like Russo playing like a brick wall tonight.....should have gotten creative with Nasty and put him on the ice to mirror Russo and get into his head and into the Mallards heads, may have gotten them off their game, and gotten some of our shots into the back of the net......

Just an idea.

I loved the first shift Nasty had tonight. Went in, banged a few guys, shoved one out of the way along the boards, and the guy stayed away the rest of the time he was out there. Nasty should have been doing that the rest of the night, but no. He had to waste on the bench. Thanks Al.

Shaf looked none to pleased after the game. He didn't really talk to anyone on the elevator ride down after the game.

I thought the K's dominated for the first 38 minutes. Granted, they only had the one goal, but they were keeping QC in their own zone. Before the first goal, I think QC only had one SoG.

Speaking of which, I don't think any of the goals were really Boucher's fault, except maybe the 2nd goal. The defense really let him down tonight, much like they have all season. Things better turn around tomorrow night. Go K's.
