Komets look pretty good tonight. I'm sure the mileage was rough, but these guys are pros! Nice work so far tonight. Dayton's third-string goalie hasn't hurt matters either. Go Komets!!!

Tim: I wouldnt say any of the fights were big victories either way. I was trying to give you more updates on here, but there are so many annoying ad pop-ups for this site that arent blocked by my phone that the play would start again before I could fight them off.

While the fights werent as great tonight IMO, I thought the play was a lot better tonight. Late in the third Dayton was doing things to our guys that shouldve required them buying dinner afterwards, and no calls from the refs. Then PC skates down the ice, breathes on someone wrong, and the whistles come out.

Great EFFORT tonight! Great EFFORT all weekend! Mysteriously enough, with great EFFORT has come great WINS. Go Komets!

Surma is a girl.

McCue took three to the face that didn't feel good. Nasty was unfazed.

Cescon played well tonight and had a goal.

Boucher's play was pretty good. He was only really challenged a few times though.

Dayton has to be happy that Evansville is so rotten. Dayton looks like they've given up on the season. What a rotten effort from them.

It looked like Dayton was the team carrying a bus on their back all night after lots of traveling.....

I was super proud of the effort the Komets gave tonight.

Boucher obviously played well.

Ratchuk is pretty nifty in the way he moves on the ice.....

OC is playing some freaking hockey right now......he is on his game bigtime.

Curadeau is turning things around.

Do you guys realize we have a 3rd line with Curadeau, Lapointe, and Schrock.....

That to me is unreal......and I think we will continue to roll. Leo is getting back into hockey shape, OC is playing great, PC is my Buddy.......LOL........Lardner is a hockey stud, Chaulk is Lord of the Rings, Patrosso looks like a stud with Lardner and Chaulk......the defense just needs to continue to play solid and move the puck....

Goaltending is getting solid......

I like what I am seeing.....

The Effort is there too.

Great job Komets!!!! Keep it rolling.

The ref sucked again.....shocking.

CHLTV is doing nothing for me.....they said they contacted QC and are looking into it.....

But I am a season pass guy.......means they don't care about me.

You Kasual Fans are the bomb!!!!

LOL

I e-mailed them 2 not so nice e-mails. Last time this happened they e-mailed me 4 days later tellin me the CHL-TV is streaming just fine and i can watch it in the archives. But this time they finally refunded me. And Hit, im not a casual fan, I dont have a season pass because i work 2 jobs and dont have times to watch most of the time except on weekends if im home.

Just wondering if Narauto is rethinking his decision to walk away from Fort Wayne? The K fan sitting behind the Dayton penalty box tonight was a hoot. He rode Narauto pretty hard the entire 2 minutes that he was in the box. He started with shouts about Narauto's missing moustache, and ended up yelling, "See ya later," when he left the box. Had us in stitches.

Hey Scooter....I didn't mean that way....

I just meant that since I have the pass.....they don't care to take care of the problem when I have it becasue they all ready have my money for the year.....

I hope you understand.

They should give me credit towards the playoffs or next year.....if we are in the CHL that is.....LOL

I agree, Surma was a loser in the fight since he pulled the jersey over Schrock's head. That's no way to win a fight. Glad Schrock kept swinging. Pretty good if you can do all right in a fight when you can't even see the guy you are swinging at....take that, Surma! Momma Schrock could have taken him (doesn't she usually cover her eyes when Kaleigh fights?). Ouch....

And Jungle Monkey, your playoff beard is impressive....and the playoffs are a couple months away. You look like a mountain man! :)

Thanks again, mightbite....you and the Mrs are good people. :) I'm glad Warner was right there to sign your cards. I'm sure he appreciates hearing nice things from fans. :)

I wasn't comparing Reiter and Boucher and the level at which they are challenged.

I was simply saying that tonight, the Gems didn't put many challenging shots on Nick, the ones that were he handled well.

RunningKomet

Ratchuk brings a lot to the team beyond just skating abilities. He goes after the puck and has more in his bag of tricks than a weak flip pass that barely clears the zone, passes in the zone to the other team, or constant icings. He seems to evaluate situations well and at times comes up with creative solutions. In short, he's a massive improvement and you can really tell he wants to be out there every shift. If he stays, someone else will have a really long IR vacation. Heck, Ratchuk even lined up as a forward once tonight. He's SOOO versatile!!

Did Schroky have his jersey tied down properly? It shouldn't come over his head. I think the NHL has discipline for this situation.

TheBauer
Sun, 02/20/2011 - 10:00pm

Mike,

I think he did because Gratz, Daytons coach, asked the ref about his jersey. The ref said it was and that all that was said.
Last night in QC, Kostadine was given a game misconduct for not having his jersey tied down in the Cescon scrap

So maybe we caught a break. Thanks TheBauer.

Another good game for the K's! Keep it rolling. Had to listen only because I was working; but these things happen, Bob does a good job painting a picture for me...

Tie-downs break, rip, etc... during fights. It happens and the ref's/linesman know this. Schrock didnt get lucky, they did their job to identify...

Players (back in the day) used to always try to pull a guys jersey over the other players head in a fight. Gave them an advantage and was very common. They (the linesman) didnt jump right in when it happened or give the other guy a gamer or any of that crap; but you had to be smart about it... If the jersey came all the way off your opponent it then backfired on you because you no longer had anything to hold on to and the other guy would REALLY have the upper hand. Which former Buffalo tough guy is this rule commonly referred to as his? What it Rob Ray? He took it a step further, never had anything tied down...lol You pulled on his jersey and you got the jersey, shoulder pads, elbow pads, undershirt, everything! LOL. He really used that to his advantage.

BLB, the beard is a tribute to our long lost friends in Muskegon. Mrs. JungleMonkey doesn't dig it much...

LOL...a tribute beard, not a playoff beard, eh? That's a new one to me. Well, if the Mrs does not like it....you know what to do....it does make you look older. Do you get carded buying your bananas now? ;)

And I miss Muskegon too. Just not their Mafia boss coach Kromm. We still see him when the IceMafia comes to town. Boy, do I still hate that guy. I would not want to see him strip on the bench.
