Rank the seven IHL teams from what they have signed so far. Who do you think is the top team and why?
1. Fort Wayne: Best continuity, defense and goaltending signed so far. Getting Syroczynski, Woods and Haun I think are the key signings so far.
2. Muskegon: Almost ditto. Like the Komets, wonder if age will catch up to them. League's best offense.
3. Port Huron: Always have a lot of respect for Stan Drulia and how he puts teams together. Kevin Hansen will be great for them in the smaller rink.
4. Bloomington: Finally, the PT have some continuity behind the bench and on the ice. They won't have to spend the first three months introducing themselves to each other. Might have league's second-best scoring.
5. Flint: Generals may end up with the league's top offensive foward line with Pascal Rheaume and Greg Bullock and someone else. Those are the type of players who can help recruit others.
6. Dayton: Gems have an excellent start on defense with Joe Van Cullin and Greg Labenski.
7. Quad City: Frank Anzalone is known for putting together good lineups. Looking foward to seeing Seabass (Laplante) get to play every day. They could move up quickly.
It's still very early yet, and as usual, the depth and quality of the league will be determined by the goaltending and the improvement of the rookies. Toughness looks like it could be a much bigger factor around the league.
What do you think?

If you made kitty biscuits I would buy some. I love kitties and birdies, your all in luck, mail order showed up today, will be much more (in)sane tomorrow, whoopi, happy pills. Socrates was the neighbors cat, he used to come over and try to steal my plato when I made rats out of it.
Burgee, did you eat the "Plato" when you were a kid? :) Anyone know when season tickets are available to be picked up? I need a hockey fix, might have to bust out my recording of game 5 from last season.
5MinMajor- 483-0011 will get you that answer.
Five Minute: Not sure but I know it was late last year. Seems like they didn't come available until a week or two at the most before the first home game. I remember getting pretty anxious when the time came near and I hadn't heard anything from anyone. If you find out, let me know please.
i coached plato.
Thanks guys, I might give them a call this afternoon if I get a chance. If I hear anything I'll post it, ok? Now that I think about it, I think it was pretty close to the first exhibition game before you could get them.
Wow!!! Lets review here. 1) Burgee played with plato (playdoh). 2) Mightbite likes dog biscuits. 3) Wendy rules hemlock and OTHER DARK AND SINISTER THINGS. (actually I'm kinda liking that). 22 days to the first exhibition game. I hope we can hold on. It's going to be close. To Five Minute Major: I think the K's send a letter informing the STH's when they are available for pick up.
Alan-You left out chuckitt! If he coached plato, which I believe he did, he is older than dirt it self. That makes hockey older than the Olympic games. I'll bet Bob Chase called the very first game. I would be willing to bet Canadians would disagree with that. I think I am back to that "Geek" thing aren't I? Oh Well!!!
Thanks Dschebig. How in the world could I have forgotten about Chuckitt? He is one of our favorites. I hope you had a nice vacation. I noticed that you hadn't posted anything for a while and was hoping that nothing was wrong. Glad to have you back in the cuckoos nest.
I figuered Schebig had been in box feeling shame last week.
VACATION IS A WONDERFUL THING. PLAYED GOLF, RELAXED AND DID NOT GO NEAR A COMPUTER. OH YA DRANK A FEW BLOODY MARY'S. A VACATION AWAY FROM COCKOOS IS A REAL VACATION. I HOPE BURGEE GOT HIS "NEW" MEDS.
Alan, Wendys dog biscuits are better than fast food or the food you get at the Komet games.
mightbite, no offense to Wendy, but that's not saying much about the dog biscuits, now, is it? I think you meant to say that they are good, though, right? Wendy, don't you make them out of things like peanut butter and oatmeal and stuff like that. Mmm, now I'm hungry....darn....I don't have a dog. :(
Yes that is what I was trying to say./ 2 fights Toronto vs. boston 1st period.
BLB, yeah, that's true. Whole grains and all. Hey, I won't deny that I've licked my fingers, at least before adding all the flour to them. No reason not to. They are for dogs only because they are in the form of a hard biscuit.
Dschebig, I do have some ready to go that I'd be happy to pass along if you are interested. Email me at wendybartle@yahoo.com if you are and I'll figure out a way to get them to you.
With that said... Geesh, better get back to the hockey talk before I get attacked again. So... How about that Heatley trade, eh?
