Am I the only one who HATES games like these? People who come once, maybe twice a year and spend the whole game talking about any and everything but the game right infront of them and not even watching the game...Plus you know they have to get up during play and can't wait for the whistle...If I don't punch someone in the face tonight it's going to be a miracle...

Try sitting at the top of a section and see how much worse it is!

Komets PA: What's the deal with playing a re-made version of Michael Jackson? If youre going to play Beat It, you play Beat It! There are certain artists you just don't re-make (Don McClean, The Who, Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc.).

Can anyone tell I have no real complaints about the game tonight?? ;)

I did kind of want Philips to get Defenseman of the Year though....

Where was Hodgy the last 5:30 of the game?

After giving the Flint bench the universal signal for "self-pleasure" and jawing at their entire team, he never came back on the ice. Was Al punishing him for his behavior (that lets be frank here, was the most immature and offensive thing we saw on the ice all season.) or was he protecting him from the beating that was going to insue?

Either way, thanks Hodgy... Perhaps the parents of the kids at tonights game can forward the schools phone call to you when their kid gives the same gesture during kickball tomorrow.

Someone we all know in love predicted a few weeks ago Flint would get in the Playoffs and if they did would be the most dangerous team of the four. Prediction #1 came true. Now we find out the rest. Anytime you have a goalie like they do who can steal a game even when their team is outplayed for 60 minutes they can be a very very dangerous team.
Put Rob Nolan in behind the Komets D. Would anyone ever score? Oh... unless a shot bounces in from a mile away lol. But seriously, beside that shot, does he ever get beat cleanly on a shot he can see?

Gamemisconduct...OMG, I am with you. We had a bunch of teenagers that sat in front of us and did nothing all game but slap the stupid verizon sticks together (thanks verizon) and yell at everything. Then while play was in progress, all 1500 of them decided it was time to leave. First of all, where were all the parents, second of all, thanks to the season ticket holder who decided to trade all their unused season tickets in and gave them to all those disrespectful teenagers. Sometimes I just wish I had enough money to buy all the tickets around me so I don't have to put up with them all season. Anyway, good game, glad to see flint in the playoffs.
Another thing I forgot to mention last night...I thought it was real classy by both teams for the end of the game hand shakes. Shows a lot of respect on both sides.

Janice: Their parents were probably there, but let their kids do anything so that they would think they were cool. Parents do not exist anymore, friends do. It's because you're not allowed to clock anyone anymore and the punks know they can do anything with no consequences. Oh, and to add to the fun, all the kids will be getting lower-quality educations now too since no one wants to pay taxes and all the teachers are being let go. A thousand thank yous to Mitch and the others that voted for him and his cohorts in the State Senate. Sorry, no politics. I digress.

Back in hockeyland: Schrock has to be the best pick-up of the year for this team. Great call very early in the year, Blake. You were all over that one. I think what I notice more about Schrock than anything when I watch him play, and what I think makes him stand out so much over many of his teammates, is that he seems to be genuinely having fun out there EVERY game. He is NEVER below 100%!

And one last thing, those stupid thunder sticks DO pop! Don't ask how I know, just know that if you do pop one, the world does not end and people around you get the message :)

I joked with my son all year about the third period interview and how silly it was. What Komet employee was going to ask a question that we were actually interested in hearing, and Sims giving an honest answer.

It took until the last game of the season. I about fell out of my chair when the dude who doesn't do it as much said something like. "I see you made a goalie change between people. Were you just trying to get both goalies some work."

Sims: "No Comment."

LOL....classic....isn't that the sponsor.

Nick look soft and couldn't concentrate at all...lots of loose rebounds and couldn't glove and hold two simple wristers from the blue line. I was amazed that Haun was in and wondered what happened. Clearly Al didn't like seeing Nick going through the motions.

Will make the playoffs interesting. Glad to see Flint get into the playoffs. As one of their players said to me after the game as I congratulated each of them for a great stretch run, "Well, the Komets will have to pay us for another couple of weeks."

I've never, ever seen in professional sports a team lose their last game and celebrate. I sit near the Flint bench and knew when they called their timeout that Bloomy must have lost. It was a riot to see both teams on the ice celebrating.

Bloomy just folded up. I think they went 6-15 to end the season. That's brutal for a team in the playoff hunt.

Love to hear more about Savage and Franke in the pressbox. Where there's smoke...

Looking forward to Thursday. Does headcase Larry get a start here in Game One?

Hoss, I think being in the middle of the section is worse because you're more likely to have them infront of you, on each side, and behind you.

Janice, I'm completely with you about wishing I had enough money to buy all the seats around me..we've said that several times over the years

Janice, it's not just the teenagers. I had a family sitting behind us in 206 Row 19 (I sit in Row 18) and they hardly did anything to keep their 3 year old from kicking the back of my seat (on a day when I had to work all day), climb over the seats next to my wife, sit in the steps, etc. And of course the child was complaining because she could not "see the game"....then of course, were the teenagers AND "adults"...always get an usher who spends more time talking and watching the game....

Yes, I saw it and heard it, and it's between them, just like when I've had altercations in the past with players, coaches and the owners, it's been between us. It's not that rare.

You wonder what was said or written that rubbed someone the wrong way enough to have a semi-public altercation like that?

My wife finally had it with some of the people in our section tonight and yelled at a couple who kept standing up!! About six of us fell out over it.

Across the isle from me looked like a kindergarten class, a bunch of very young kids with absolutely no supervision, running around their seats and up and down the isle.

I finally talked myself into ignoring the whole mess as much as possible. I have my own theories on some of this but this blog isn't the place to propose or discuss them.

I use to think that if through nights like this the Komets picked up a few more steady fans then it was worth it but for that to happen I believe the people would have to pay attention to the game and not much of that was going around. The down side of the nets in the end is in the pre-net days every once in awhile one or two of these "guests" would get picked off by an errant puck and the rest would start paying attention.

Salvucci, you are so misinformed it isn't even funny. Did you miss the TWO breakaways Boucher stopped in the first period? I guess you missed the questionable goal Haun let in, right? I guess you're a goalie expert right? And BTW Boucher had 13 shots in one period and Haun had 16 the rest of the way....oh and instead of talking trash maybe check your facts that Boucher hurt his shoulder....man this blog us painful sometimes

Take that Sal......gheesh.

These fans all of you are describing and complaining about, are the same fans we have been old are more important to the Frankes than we are, the season ticket holders and hockey fans that support this team thru thick and thin....so you have no choice but to love these fans, the Frankes do....more than they love you. Right?

I'm glad the Komets played hockey....I didn't want to see them laydown, and they didn't.....Kudos.

Bloomington, heck, they laid down most of the year it seems. Skalde has to go. What an awful coach. I remember some of the nights that team was here this season and was out of control, or totally not interested in playing. That to me reflects the coach. His temper tantrums and allowing players to scream down officials.

Better get my Generals jersey ordered. Dang it.

Thanks for pointing out that Nick was hurt Mike sharp. I didn't know that when I wrote my comments.

I didn't see two breakaways by Flint in the first period.

I'm not sure how shots faced have anything to do with not being able to catch a simple wrist shot from the blue line.

I think there's a reason that Nick is a much better goalie on the road than at home. I like Timmy Haun as our goalie at home.

I like the third period interview. I just think it's kind of silly that they broadcast it over the PA for everyone, including the opposing team, to hear. I always imagine the visiting coach hastily jotting down notes. LOL. Obviously Al isn't going to say anything of real substance, but how is that different from the interviews you see during NHL games? It's still fun.

Regarding the "throw down". Wow. And I thought that sort of thing only happened between John Tortorella and Larry Brooks.

Dont worry about it Sal, your a good poster who never attacks anyone on this blog. You just give your opinion as you see it and its not your fault when others cant handle even the smallest bit of criticism towards a Komet player.

Hit, Please post a picture of you wearing your new Generals sweater when you get it... Thanks! :)

You may enjoy the article in Bloomington's newspaper on the Prairie Thunder's collapse at http://www.pantagraph.com/sports/hockey/professional/article_fcd89a1c-4b6f-11df-81ad-001cc4c002e0.html . Nice quotes like

Hodgman injured his wrist when directing a filthy gesture at the Flint bench.

Or Al was protecting him from the Generals after he mouthed off to them, he never returned after that... while each line was put in two more times..
