Tailing the Komets

Playoff picture

Danbury has pulled within two points of Rockford. Each has six games remaining:

Danbury -- at Elmira, at Richmond, Adirondack, at Roanoke, at Roanoke.
Rockford -- Quad City, at Muskegon, Muskegon, Flint and Muskegon.
Komets are at Port Huron, at Flint, at Quad City, at Missouri, home to Muskegon and Kalmazoo.
Motor City is at Kalamazoo, at Quad City, Kalamazoo, at Port Huron and Port Huron
Quad City is at Rockford, Motor City, Fort Wayne, Richmond and at Flint
Richmond is Adirondack, Danbury, at Elmira, at Quad City and at Missouri.

I'm guessing the Ks will be playing Rockford in the first round. I love Danbury's schedule, and Rockford's is brutal.
Muskegon vs. QC, Danbury vs. Motor City, Rockford vs. FW, Kalamazoo vs. Adirondack

What do you think?

That scenario is our best bet, I'm afraid. That Rockford series ought to be awesome.

I can't remember, 2nd round do the teams get re-seeded so to speak? Or if we win, with your scenario in mind, we play either Danbury or Motor City?

Re-seeded.

Ok, lets figure this out just for fun:

Muskegon beat Quad City.
Motor City pulls off the upset of Danbury
Fort Wayne beats Rockford
Kalamazoo beats Adirondack

Fort Wayne vs. K-zoo
Muskegon vs. Motor City

Finals:

Fort Wayne vs. Muskegon rematch.

Dreaming? Maybe.....Maybe Not.

I know this sounds carzy but Danbury knows very little about us and could look by us, were Rockford knows all to well what we are capable of.

(1) Muskegon vs. (8) Richmond - Muskegon in 6 games.

(2) Danbury vs. (7) Motor City - Motor City in 7 games.

(3) Rockford vs. (6) Fort Wayne - Komets in 6 games.

(4) Kalamazoo vs. (5) Adirondack - Kalamazoo in 6 games.

However you look at it I think this years playoffs are gonna be the best we've seen in awhile. You're gonna have 8 really good or hot teams come playoff time. You look at each possible match up and see good series everywhere. In previous years you could always point to 1 or 2 match-ups and see a possible sweep...not this year. Now the K's need to stir it up a lil with playoff bound teams to peek interest for the playoffs and reel in the casual fans to keep attendance up instead of the usual 4500 in the post season...I'll keep my fingers crossed....

The Komets have yet to win a game against Danbury. Plus they have one of our former players.

I'll take the chance against Rockford.

K-zoo will sneak past Muskegon by 1 point or tie and win the head to head. Its K-zoo's to lose, the scheduling gods were on their side.

QC will miss the playoffs by 1 point.

MC and Richmond tie for last spot, edge to MC.

K-zoo Vs Richmond = K-zoo
Danbury Vs MC = Danbury
Rockford Vs FW = FW
Muskegon Vs Adirondack = Muskegon

K-zoo Vs FW
Muskegon Vs Danbury

Danbury Vs FW

I like this scenerio because that would have muskegon on the bus quite a bit racking up east coast miles.

I wouldn't want to have to play Motor City. They have gone from being a complete joke last year (before the NHL guys showed up) to being a very dangerous team. Rod
Branch can be erratic but when he gets into that mode where he forgets he is indeed Rod Branch and not Grant Fuhr, he is almost unbeatable. You can ride a hot goalie a long way in the playoffs.

I'd love to see R-ford vs. Fort Wayne in the playoffs! If last year was any indication, we can expect to see quite a show!

The Komets Booster Club is taking a trip up to Port Huron, Canada, and Flint this weekend! :) We're looking forward to the games at PH and Flint, and we might be stopping in Canada briefly, in only to say, "Hey, I've been to Canada!" LOL Is anybody else going to Port Huron or Flint this weekend?

Make sure if you are going to Canada that you have a copy of your birth certificate with you. Also, when you get to the border, they are going to ask you what your purpose is. Tell them you are going to have lunch because if you say "I don't know" or anything that sounds at all weird to them, they will mark you car for search and you will be at customs for an hour. Make sure that nobody has any tobacco, knives (even pocket) no pepper spray and no alcohol otherwise it will be confiscated.
Really it isn't bad. I travel across 100+ times a year but in the interest of safety of both countries, they are searching cars more frequently especially cars that haven't crossed before (they keep computer records and take a photo of the car everytime it comes and goes).

Laurie, If you go into Canada, there is a nice family style place to eat in Sarnia about a mile from the border and I want to say it is past the casino. I wish I could tell you the name of the place, but we went there after the clinching game against Port Huron (1st round) in 2003. The food was good and reasonably priced. Perhaps Tony E might know the name of the place. Just remember to drive using KPH instead of MPH! Speaking of Tony E....hey, I tried calling you to let you know that I finally arrived (with 10:00 left in 1st) I looked for you then tried to call you, but I could not hear anything on my phone with those speakers blowing out my ear drums! We moved over to section 10...we were the couple with the matching black jerseys w/ our names sewn on the back.

Bob gheesh I wasn't able to make the game. I have a new assigner for my college softball schedule and he has this weird idea that umpiring is more important than hockey. Talk about a guy who needs to get his priorities straight!!!!!!!! Lol at least we have an understanding when it comes to the playoffs.
