The K's are going to have scheduling nightmares for this Final. Friday Freedom game and Saturday a Graduation Schedule for 2:00 PM. The guestion can they make a turn around from Graduation to Hockey in about a 4 hour window? They also have the Vera Bradly sale going on that weekend. Wednesday the 13th is IPFW graduation. I could see Game 1 Saturday(5/2), Game 2 Sunday(5/3). Game 3 @ Muskegon on Wednesday(5/6), Game 4 @ Muskegon on Friday(5/8). Game 5 Saturday (5/9), Game 6 @ Muskegon Sunday (5/10), Game 7 Tuesday (3/12). I think it will have to be a 2-2-1-1-1 format or at least it should be
My word, Toe, do you ever have anything positive to say? Seriously, give it a rest.
You're also dead wrong on the schedule. Leave it to the professionals. From what I've heard of a possible schedule, you guys will love it. No, I'm not going any futher than what I've already posted because then if it doesn't work out that way you'll come back blaming me because I said it would be such and such.
How is anything in the above statement negative? Seriously, it is an obersvation of how the format could be and a question if the crew could turn around from a graduation to a game in a 4 hour window. It is also a reference to how busy the coliseum is during the Month of May and it was also a reference to an early article in which you made reference to the scheduling problems
On a side note Blake: What will the K's do with Legualt? Do they still have the ability to move him to the 45 day IR or does he come off?
I'm waiting for your prediction Blake. You nailed the Kzoo series. Quickly, please. My bookie goes on vacation next week. :-)
It usually takes longer than an hour for a college graduation guys. I seriously doubt that game 2 will be on Saturday at the Coliseum.
Game 2 on Saturday would make it an interesting one. I have the Mini Marathon in Indianapolis that morning, then the drive back up here, limp into the Jungle, and still have enough energy to go nuts for the Ks. That'd be like racing Indy 500 and the Charlotte 600 in the same day. But, the old guys always got the job done, so I would too. You gotta make sacrifices for the good things in life. Bring it on! LET'S GO KOMETS!!!!
I've never gotten to have a birthday at a hockey game, but from the looks of the potential scheduling, this will come close!
Side note: Did we ever find out what happened to O'Connor on Friday? He was in a fair amount of pain from what I saw and I honestly didn't think he'd be playing last night.
O'C came back to play even Friday night.
I think the colliseum would do everything in their power to make it happen Saturday night. That's a lot of money that they don't make for graduation. I would love to see the graduation moved to noon?
They can get it in at 2 p.m., but it will be tight. They've done it before under the same circumstances, either last year or the year before. It would be insane to try to move up the graduation after all the invitations and such have been sent. Nightmare.
If it was last year, it wasn't on a Saturday.
From a story on May 3, 2007.
Planning ahead
The reason for the 8:15 p.m. faceoff Saturday for Game 5 instead of the usual 7:30 p.m. start is because the University of Saint Francis will be holding its commencement ceremonies in the Memorial Coliseum arena starting at 2:30 p.m. Coliseum workers will need the extra time to make the changeover to the ice surface. They'll be hustling.
