Tailing the Komets

Prayer request

The boy on the left is Jonathan Shepler, and the guy making the funny face is his brother... Blake. No kidding. It's true, and I had nothing to do with it.

They are the sons of blogger Mark (also known as Kmtshcky17) and Jodi Shepler and the nephews of Janice Shepler (Musical Chairs competitor extroidinaire and master sign designer). From here I'll let Mark explain, "As some of you know, my son Jonathan has Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. Over the last several weeks he has been really sick, first it was broncities, then a viral infection and finally turned to Pnemonia. Well you can imagine the toll it took on his already weak and fragile body. Today I got bad news that the doctor isn't very optomistic that Jonathan will ever walk again. Not saying that this was totally unexpected, I knew it was gonna happen eventually, but not at 8 yrs old..."

Jonathan has not walked in two weeks so we're asking for some prayers. Along with being an ultimate Komets fanatic, Jonathan is known for his high spirits and positive attitude.

Mark again: "I asked him last night if he would be disappointed if he couldn't walk again, he was like “No” and I was like you won't be able to play hockey in the kitchen with your brother

Thanks for that story Blake. I have been a little low lately. Every once in a while we all need to hear those stories to realize how blessed we are when we got our health. The young lad will be in my prayers. What a great attitude he has. God bless him.....
