I really, really, really want to see the Komets win this series. If Flint does I won't cry. Any team in any league that wins a best of seven deserves it, that's what I like about best of seven championships. But perhaps Flint, if they win it, will have had to work a little harder to do so.

I know this is selfish, but if Flint does win I hope the final game is here so they can skate the cup and be cheered by close to 10,000 (I'm sure some will leave) fans, myself included. On the other hand the die-hards in Flint deserve to see it too. For that to happen Flint will have to win it in either 4 or 6.

Good articles Blake.

Maybe they should have scheduled all seven games here and just bussed down the Flint fans with the players? They could switch benches to rotate on home and away. The bench switching can be called the Drulia factor.............

I guess it seems we have more Flint Wayne fans in this area now than we do Fort Wayne fans......

Incredible.

Stop feeling sorry for the Generals. Stop feeling like you have to feel guilty for being a Komet fan because your leagues ownership is supporting the Generals. I know that the fact is if the Generals do well, so does the IHL....I get that.....

But come on people......we are Komet fans. Act like it. It is the Finals, and we are playing for the Kup. Stop acting like we need to give Flint the Kup.....

I have my Flint jersey, it just came in the mail......should I wear it, or burn it??? I got it because I was making good on what I thought was a joke I had made that Flint made the playoffs.

If the fans there, the supporters or non-supporters there choose to crap on the Generals, that is the way it goes.

It is not Fort Waynes fault. It is not our job to make sure those folks have hockey.

The Komets can survive without Flint Wayne.

Rant over.

Go Komets!!!

Disagree, Hit. Apparently it is our job to make sure the folks up there have hockey. From what I've been reading/hearing we've been doing it for a couple years now. I do agree with your cheering advice though. GO KOMETS!!!

Gee, I sure hope I didn't give anyone the idea I was in some sort of way hoping Flint wins this, did I?

I did say if they do win I hope it happens on Fort Wayne ice,for the benefit of their players, not their fans. So let me make this perfectly clear, I hope the Komets win.

As far as your Flint jersey goes, hey that's your problem. We have a couple that sits in front of us and they frequently were jerseys from the other IHL teams, complete with tons of autographs, just not the team we're playing that night.

With that in mind I would suggest not wearing it to a game. I wouldn't suggest burning it either, they're too expensive. Maybe give it to a one of the kids of a Flint fan?

Sorry, Steve....wasn't aimed at you. Just in "general" to all the Komet fans who have a new found love for the Flint team.

That was only my pre-game self-speech to fire me up.

I was having trouble seeing past the fact that the Komets are playing against their JV team in the finals. LOL

Once again, sorry Steve.

Cool Hit.

I don't know, maybe Flint does deserve to win. Not because they've had so many problems up there the last couple of years, but because they are here as the "league's team". Without a doubt Frankes are pumping $ into them but so is at least one other owner, all through the league, so this means they belong to everybody, no?

In other words, if Flint wins we all win but if the Komets win then only the Fort Wayne fans win. And I'll stop with that because the temptation to compare this to a certain political philosophy that seems popular right now is getting to great.

Your right Steve, the Kinneys are/were pumping money into the Gens as well from everything I've been told; but the Frankes are the whipping boys of minor league hockey so they are the only ones singled out in the Flint situation...for the bad... Nobody wants to point out that without the Kinney's and Frankes, the Gens wouldnt have nbeen able to attract the quality of players they did this year and wouldnt be in the finals... IMO.......

I agree with the above posts.

Just wishing we could move past the propping up of teams and into a better place.

I know a few will argue that there might not truly be a better place....

But I would think that there are at least 3 other teams out there within 4 hours of travel that could be our opponents....as long as we could include the 3 or 4 teams we all ready have to those 3 at least.

Maybe that can't happen, maybe it can.

I think it really is a tough call Hit, I'm glad I don't have to make it. There are advantages either way but I think the best possible scenario won't happen no matter what, not for some time anyway. Minor league hockey has to get better organized and supported.

I also can't see everybody pumping money into a team if that team isn't going to grow any as far as attendance and support. If it has a future then it might be worth it but I don't see much of a future in Flint for some time, as much as I would like to.
