Puska on Pucks

Some of the hot topics in professional hockey are featured on this week's edition of Puska on Pucks, The Original Internet Hockey Show. Host Denis J. Puska interviews Cleve Dheensaw, Colonist from the Victoria Times-Colonist, regarding a story he wrote about the rumors surrounding Victoria BC and other western ECHL markets being eyed by the NHL for American Hockey League team locations.

ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna is also on the program to talk about the state of the league including his thoughts on the two new franchises - the Kalamazoo Wings and the Toledo Walleye. The Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League received some great news recently from the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. Ice Bears President and General Manager Mike Murray will be visiting on the show to give his thoughts on the announcement. There is also a fresh edition of Ice Chips News and Notes from around the world of professional hockey that features more news about the All-American Hockey League.

Interesting show.

The ECHL gets talked up a lot (which maybe it deserves) but looks like they could be loosing teams to the AHL out west. Makes a push for teams in the mid-west even more important for them.

Something I wasn't aware of but found very interesting was the ECHL had five teams its first year and three of them were owned by the same person. Critics of Steven Franke's minor interest in another team should make note, eh?

Also of interest is the AAHL's push into Muskegon and having to share LC Walker with the Lumberjacks. Does this actually make sense to anyone??
