Agreed Wendy.

Thanks for the link mightbite, let's hope for the best in Flint. I'm guessing questions about Flint will be answered before questions about the upcoming combining of leagues are answered.

Burgee, the announcers commented on Chicago's lack of love for Pronger, feelings I share.

My wife is even worse, she's from St. Louis and a big Blues fan. A lot of people down there didn't like him when he played for the Blues and their attitude hasn't improved any.

mightbite-I am not sure about this but I think Hossa signed a two or three year deal with Chicago. Please don't hold me to that. Having said that I am sure the Sharks would take him.

Dschebig, yes I think he did sign a long term contract 10yr? I'm just giving BLB stuff cause I know she dislikes Hossa but shes rooting for chicago & likes the sharks./ pronger is a pain in the ----& I'm rooting for the Flyers. I like Mike Richards,Claude Giroux,Riley Cote is my favorite & a real nice guy.

Wow, watching how Hossa plays in all three zones, scores, hits, and does all the little things on the ice, how could you not like a player like that???

Sad to say; but after these playoffs my fellow Hawks fans and I will see many of these players who have been huge in these playoffs move on to other teams, either thru free agency or trades... The big boys start getting thier big boy pay next season...

People that don't like Hossa feel that way for reasons other than how he plays. I have mixed feelings about him myself. Yeah, jumping ship from Pittsburgh to Detroit to Chicago (plus the "foot-in-mouth" comments he's made each time) didn't win him a lot of brownie points. But during the finals last season, it was pointed out that it all started in Ottawa, where he signed a new contract only to be immediately traded to Atlanta. Knowing that, I could kind of understand why he has had a "me first" attitude ever since.

I don't care for him exactly because of the way he plays. The other night in Game 4 when he shied away rather than shooting or going to the next was a prime example. He played much better in Game 5, but so did everyone on the Blackhawks. Let's face it, this is Chicago's series to lose and always has been based strictly on the goaltending. When the Blackhawks decide to play, the Flyers can't keep up.

The old classic...

Hustle and Heart vs. Skill and Talent.

Call me old fashioned, but I have more appreciation for hustle and heart.

Go Flyers.

I expect Chicago to win, but I want the Flyers to win.

Good God, mightbite....now I need to go get my heart attack treated!!!!! I read the comments and freaked out thinking Hossa was getting out of his Chicago contract (since they mean nothing in sports anymore!) and going to the Sharks. I dislike him for the reasons Wendy stated. He just seems like he's out solely to win a Cup, not to play the game. That to me is just wrong. Maybe more players are like that....they just don't say it out loud! I hope he salted his foot before he stuck it in his mouth. My 9 year old plays for the love of the game....he really would love to win every game, but he does not whine and cry and ask to be traded to the best team so that he can win the division. And he's not even hit puberty yet. That is what bothers me about Hossa. Yeah, he can play. But he's a jerk.

And how 'bout that hit laid on Pronger by Byfuglien last night? Oh. Yeah. More, please!!

And to be fair, Wendy, plenty of players sign contracts and then are immediately traded in all sorts of sports....and they don't get "me first" attitudes about it. You either have tat attitude or you don't. Really, when it comes down to it, isn't that every player's goal, to win the big whatever (cup, pennant, trophy, etc) at the end of the season? He's just a big baby. He had his chance with the Penguins, and they were so close. He leaves, then they win the next season (without Hossa). He's on the Red Wings, they lose. To be honest, I really should be rooting against the Hawks, but I can't do that. I like too many other players on the Hawks to do that.

I just would not have this problem if my darn Sharks had not choked!!! Blackhawk feathers got stuck in our throats....bummer.

Blake, I have another question regarding this IHL-CHL business association.....would we need to reduce/change our number of vets/rookies, do you think, since we will still continue to be the IHL and operating as the IHL with IHL rules? Or is that something that will probably change, do you think? Another hockey mom and I were talking about this tonight at practice, and we were not sure how this would work. Since we're technically not gonna be the CHL, why would we need to change that? Just a question that popped up while watching Chaulker skate around with our kiddos, wondering how many of our vets we will get to keep.

To be determined, BB. The IHL was already talking about cutting back on the number of vets for next year anyway. I'd guess 5 or 6 instead of 8

Wow, that was quick. Your answer, I mean. Thanks! I sorta thought it might be the "7-10 days" sorta thing, but thought I'd give it a shot.

Also, did I ask on here yet if you had heard if anyone from the Komets had gotten a look yet from the higher-up camps yet? I know we always talk about that during the summer, but I can't remember when those start.

Blake Sebring

Usually they start around July 4. Haven't heard anything yet, but haven't asked, either.

I think Hossa has done very well the season and post season while playing without a true center for most of it... Plus he came back from a fairly serious surgery for a goal scorer...
