Central Hockey League (CHL) Commissioner Duane Lewis announced today that the reigning CHL Champion and Ray Miron Presidents' Cup holder Rapid City Rush and the city of Rapid City, South Dakota will host the 2011 Central Hockey League All-Star Game at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena on Wednesday, January 12, 2011.
The Rush and head coach Joe Ferras (2010 CHL Coach of the Year) will form one team in the match-up and will be opposed by a team of CHL All-Stars comprised of players from the other 17 CHL member teams.

I do believe that release should state:
The Rush will be opposed by a team of CHL All-Stars comprised of players from the other 12 CHL teams and the 5 IHL teams playing in the Central Hockey League under the CHL monikor in the Northern Conference....
That one is for you HIT!.....LOL :)
Anybody want to make a train trip? I can't do it so you will need to put it together.
On a more serious note; If Evansville don't sign some players and a coach soon all they will be able to send is Fic (forgot how to spell his name) You know who I mean.
"Franke" will be doing this soon :)
Interesting format. It keeps a lot of players out of the all star game.
Plus skills competition if they're having one.
I don't like that format..so your only gonna have 18 all stars outside of the Rapid City Rush team...why not have a true all-star team...
game..that should be
because they are the most boring games on earth. Maybe this way the players will care a little.
I am sure the Komets will host an IHL all star game, too, right?
Since only one team claims to be in the IHL still, then maybe the Komets could play with themselves......LOL No PUN intended.
Will Guy and PC drop gloves at center ice of the IHL All-Star game? I'd only give PC a 70% chance of winning that one.
Maybe they could have the old-timers IHL All Stars vs. the IHL All Stars.
Guy could play for either team.
Hit,
Sometimes you just make me crack up....
Hit, you could have a great idea there....the old timers of the IHL vs the young 'uns....I'd go see that.
IHL website is gone........
JR,
I just checked the IHL website....it's still there, but they did remove the logos for Flint, PH, and Muskegon. Otherwise, no recent news items...
I had just tried to go there and it sent me to the go daddy website to purchase...wierd...
Bob, this is strange... I cleared my browser, re-entered the ihl website and its still sending me to the go daddy domain site for ihl-hockey.com.....
Another person I talk to on another site is being directed to the go daddy domain site also.....
I can still get on there with no problem....
JR must have been blocked.......
Access Denied Buddy!!!
Interesting....I just checked again and I was able to access the IHL website.
I have been banned by the IHL!!! LOL!!
Oh well, there was nothing useful on the site anyways..... They might as well have directed visitors to the K's website...lol
This is funny.... I even tried Googling the IHL and the listings they provide all send me to the Go Daddy domain site... They have really covered thier bases...lol
I tried the IHL web site last night and it was ok. This morning it goes to the Go Daddy.
The website isn't really relavant anyway, anymore (I know, negative nelly, boo-hoo, so anyway...).
I disagree with this all-star format. I don't care if they players would care more or not or whether or not all-star games are boring. It's an ALL-Star game, not a previous champ-half-all-star game. Let it be "boring' just like all the other ones the other leagues play, and be a TRUE all-star game.
Dayton, Bloomington, and Quad City also don't have any IHL logos on the sites also. It's all CHL.
CHL!
CHL!
CHL!
Funny....I just went to go to the IHL website, it redirected me to the CHL website....
Ding Dong the IHL is DEAD!
More respect is given to those who admit defeat, rather than saying "We're just playing under another moniker."
