Here's a review of the Memorial Coliseum from Paul Swaney of Stadiumjourney.com.
``My website, Stadium Journey, publishes reviews of pro and college sports stadiums. We recently posted our review of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum and I thought you and your readers may be interested. I am really hoping to hear from fans who attend games regularly so that they might share their insights about the facility. I would be really appreciative if you would be willing to post something linking to the review. In return, I would be happy to list your blog in the Local Media section of the page. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to hear from you soon...''

The fans were rated too low in my opinion. The "Extras" were rated too high. Other than that, decent assessment.
The assessment was fair in my opinion. I like how he mentions all of the advertisements on the ice and how obnoxious it is. I too haven't seen anyting quite like that anywhere in any venue...
I attended the game last night and was rather dissapointed with the crowd also. I thought that the situation of being down 0-2 in the series the house would be packed and rowdy but it seemed rather subdued.
For some reason I really don't think Fro was at the game...The BS-meter is strong on this one
He must have listen to the Capitals post game quotes from Gabby, it was word for word.
Fro - honestly, what did you expect for a mid week game and being down 3-0? Even with 6000+ in the building it seems a little empty since it holds 10500. I would expect a more like 7500-8000 for game 4. When they pack 10000+ in there, it's really something else.
Fro, you must have thought the game was over, like your team, at 3-0 and left because the crowd was louder than it has been in a long time once the Komets started their comeback! If that was subdued, you must have some crazy games at your place with fans lighting seats on fire and jumping on the ice to get their own justice...
Nope stayed for the whole game. Once a fan always a fan and why would I leave when the game got better and better. For those of you that are throwing the bs flag on me I can tell that I was there and will be there again tonight. Here's to a good game tonight with the Rush winning 3 to 1. Drop the puck and let's see what happens.
It's probably pretty tough to make a place that holds 5,127 people sound loud. Rip a decent fart in there and everyone in the stadium would be staring at you. That's hilarious. Hey, how about next we compare Zollner stadium to Lambeau Field and ask why it isn't so loud? We'd sell out RC's shed on a Wednesday night in the middle of a blizzard in early January during a 15-game losing streak. Didn't RC buy the old light-brite we used to have before we got the LED screens in the Jungle?
The RC truck looked great today with go Komets all over it Thanks rush!!!!!
Wow the slams continue. I guess we'll see who wins the series and then we can do the slamming.
Oh we're just having fun, Frodawg. If we were slamming you, I'd be making fun of how you haven't the slightest grasp of grammar in your posts, but I'm not. ;) I'm pretty impressed you came all this way to watch the games, and have also heard some good things about the area where the Rush is from and am considering making the trip. Lots of sights to see up there from what I have been told. Also, if you're going to come onto this blog and say anything against the Komets, you're bound to get some backlash. That's just common sense and you'd be a fool to expect anything different. Half the time people who are FOR the Komets catch crap on here from other Komets fans, so don't take it to heart or feel special because you are getting attention. Happens all the time.
Enjoy the city and the game, and have a safe trip when you go home.
I do have to say that I have been very impressed with the site. I wish that the Rush fans would get into the game as much as the Komets fans do. I have followed the Rush since the begining (which isn't very long 3 years) and have been to every city in the league except for the new additions from the IHL.The 1st visit to Ft Wayne has been very enjoyable and I'm sure I will be back sometime next year to see 2 of the best teams in the league go head to head again. Here's to a great series, and I hope we see a Rush victory tonight.
Frodawg, keep in mind fans in Fort Wayne aren't allowed to use noise makers (well, unless a sponsor gives out thunder sticks :-( ) while in RC it seems everyone in the building has a bell so it's easier to "make noise" and sound loud there.
From watching the two games there in this series I would say the fans in RC are comparable to the fans here, into it and having fun.
The main difference I can see is if the Komets did as much whining as the Rush do the fans here would get tired of it and let them know..... :-)
RK, I just died laughing at your fart reference....I have the mentality of an 8 year old boy. My bad. Post of the week, though, in my opinion....I know, not a very hockey related post on my part. I just thought you should know it made my day. :)
