* Leo Thomas and Kaleigh Schrock will wear the A's. There will not be a third A at this time. There is no timetable right now to name a new captain. Part of the reason not to give another A is if they do decide to name another captain and it's not one of those three players, they don't want to have to take an A away from someone.
* Picking a new captain could be done with input from the players or just a selection by coaches and management or a combination of the two. There's no hard and fast rule to how it is done.

We'll just have to see. We're working on it. If something happens, it will have to happen no later than tomorrow in order to get he new players. * The Komets have not talked with Colin Chaulk recently. ``There's nothing to report on him,'' Franke said.
* Derek Patrosso, Craig Cescon and Danko Mironovic all skated hard at practice today and hope to be able to play Friday. If Patrosso and Mironovic come off injured reserve the Komets need to make roster moves with at least two players, likely three to get under the salary cap.
* There are new forward lines: Thomas, O'Connor and Drouin; Curadeau, Francis and Schrock; Musselwhite, Naurato and Lardner.
* With a 4 1/2 season run, Dupuis is the third-longest tenured captain in team history behind the six-year run of Colin Chin and the five-year run of Len Thornson.

Release the high priced players who arent producing up to pay level. I dont want to see hard working young guys released just to keep some under acheiving high priced vets who arent giving the effort needed to produce...

RK, I think the problem is the fact that niether the Frankes or Chaulk havent completely squashed the idea of him coming back.... They've kinda just left it out there as a were not talking; but you never know type of scenario...
Even if either side did, let's face it, a lot of you wouldn't believe it anyway. Or you'd think there was some ulterior motive or whatever. Both sides have told me they haven't talked lately, and I don't think it's going to happen. I'd say it's a long, longshot, but I've seen stranger things. Both sides respect each other.

Makes me wonder how much coaching Colin did while he was here...he's a leadership type of player...he leads on and off the ice...plays with that step and tenacity that rubs off on the other players...makes other guys want to play...so, yes he could be that "one" player...IMO

Actually, they picked it up while he was out, going 20-4-6 and were on a 10-1-1 tear when he came back two years ago.

Yeah the team did pretty well while Chaulk was out, though one could argue that he hadn't actually left the team at that time and that the "Win one for Chaulker" mentality was in place.

Really? Seriously? They took the captaincy away from Dupuis? Do they really think this is going to help put pucks in the net? Sounds ridiculous to me. Strange that Guy was putting up points just fine pretty much the whole time he had the C and now all of the sudden it is hindering him and preventing him from scoring. Whatever. Classless move by management to take that away from a player that truly exemplifies a true Komet.
Just my opinion, but I don't see how taking the "C" away from Guy is going to jumpstart things with this team. I would think this had to be very humiliating for Guy and I am surprised that the Komet organization would treat him this way.
True, Guy is not the fastest guy on the ice anymore, but he certainly is not the biggest hindrance on this team. Guy works hard each and every game and you can see he is still putting forth the effort. I don't think he suddenly forgot how to lead his teammates and hate to see this happen to him.
Blake showed us the stats. Guy is NOT the top performer, period. You want your best guys in the leadership position. "Well it's all about numbers then?" YES! LOL! Yes it is. "That's a shame!" Oh well! Do you think that successful franchises worry about whether or not some fan absolutely loves a player even though that player is non-roductive? Get real people. Favoritism/personality doesn't count in the W column, sorry, it just doesn't. I think people get too attached to players and think that they should be MVP every year even though they don't produce.
