Tailing the Komets

This is really cool

This is from Larry Schmidt

Here's a picture I took at the Hockey Hall of Fame. I'm sure people would like
to see it. I give you my permission to use the shot on the picture page. It
shows Len Thornson's last jersey, Bruce Boudreau's Roadrunner jersey, Scott
Gruhl's stick which he used to break the goal scoring record, the Ken Ullyot
trophy, and in the bottom right corner you will see an Albany Choppers helmet.

Wow! I don't remember seeing that 5 years ago. Do they have a new area with heavy concentration of minor league stuff? That would be great.

I've been informed that this was not the last jersey that Len Thornson wore. He wore a couple past this before retiring.

Figures the Hall would get it wrong. Oh Well!
The HHOF is a must see for any fan of hockey. This was a case made up from IHL artifacts. Each league has their own and these ones are all down by the interactive area where you save pucks shot from a screen featuring Gretzky and Messier and also by the goalie shootout against a computer generated Ed Belfour. There also is a new huge international wing featuring lots of goodies from past Olympics. Saw an old Dave Norris junior jersey in the hall as well. Just about any artifact you can think of from old programs, pucks and ticket stubs to a few walls of goalie masks and the hall of trophies displayed in the old Bank of Montreal lobby is something to behold. Never did see the Turner Cup when I was there though. It's about a 6 1/2 hour drive if you go up thru Port Huron/Sarnia. Seems to be the quickest way across unless you like stopping in Windsor for too many reasons to be said here. All I know is I have been jonesing for Tim Horton's donuts for the last 3 weeks since I got back.

That is one thing I will miss if I ever move back to Fort Wayne. Though even the Tim Hortons here are not as good as the ones in Canada.
Windsor is a cool town but the traffic is bad. Ashley and I take day trips over there. We feel very lucky to be able to hop in the car and be in another country in 1/2 an hour.

Tony, if you do decide to move back, I know some really good real estate agents. I have heard of Tim Hortons....but never been to one....what kind of food do they serve? My last trip into Canada was during the 2003 playoffs after the PH series.

Thanks Bob! Yes we are looking into it. It will depend what kind of job Ashley can get. We need something with at least a 50 by 50 basement so my parents can get my sportscard business out of their basement.
Tim Hortons is a coffee and pastry/donut shop. They also serve the best hot cocoa in the world. I do not drink coffee but I can eat double my weight in timbits (ok I only weight 145 so that isn't saying much lol)
In Canada, there are more Tim Hortons in a typical city than there are gas stations or banks. It is a staple of the community and the favorite gathering places for folks especially in a small town. The company was smart enough to build right next to the local hockey rink (any town with 1000 people typically has their own rink in Canada) so it is the place to go before the game for a hot drink to take inside and after the game to celebrate or cry over a piece of caramel swirl cheesecake and a Ice Cap (frozen cappuchino)
