From the Regina Post-Leader

This is Robbie Laird's father if anyone would care to send him a note.

LAIRD-Glenn Edward passed away peacefully November 5, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, George Roberts Laird and Alverta (nee Jaeger) Laird and his sister Delores Reid. Glenn will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Nonie (nee Ehman) who was by his side for 57 years; sons, Rick (Shirley) and Rob (Maddi) and daughter Shelley (Don) Lax; five grandchildren, Lee, Joe, Lucy, Vanessa and Grant. Glenn will also be missed by his brothers, Gary (Virginia) and Dale (Delia), ten nieces and nephews and several cousins and special friends. Glenn was dearly loved and admired by all his family and friends for the patience and courage he showed each day living with ALS. As well as the love he had for his family, he loved horses and the sport of thoroughbred racing. Training race horses for Glenn was living his dream. Through racing he met many people who became life long friends. Glenn was admired for his credibility by other horsemen and people who shared his passion. The family would like to gratefully thank Gloria Miller of the ALS Society and the Palliative Care staff who provided great care and support for Glenn to continue to live at home. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006, at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Glenn to the ALS Society, Box 31028, Regina, SK, or Palliative Care, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

My thoughts and prayers are with the Laird family. I have known Robbie and was in his hockey camps a while ago and I still talk to him when he makes his occasional appearance at the Coliseum. Sad to see him to lose his dad.
