Tailing the Komets

Ridiculous stat

After today's game, the Komets have gone 11-straight games where their opponents have had more power-play chances than they have. It's been 15-straight games since the Komets have had more power-play opportunities than their opponents. That's simply poor personal discipline and nothing else. You can't blame that on the refs, coaching or anything else. When it goes that long, it's inexcusable.

That's 23 extra chances for opponents over that span. You may think that's OK because the Komets are winning those games, but you'd be wrong because that means only certain players are logging a ton of minutes, a lot of those players are pretty banged up right now. Eventually that will kill a team.

Here's the other stuff you were looking for:

Fort Wayne blew a three-goal lead in the third period on Saturday at Port Huron. That's three games after they blew a 2-0 third-period lead at home on Feb. 4 to Elmira, a 3-1 third-period lead at Kalamazoo on Jan. 28, and a 4-1 second-period lead at Rockford on Jan. 18. They've also twice lost two-goal leads in shootouts this season.

I really thought we might see more fisticuffs tonight but it didn't happen.

This type of game will never happen with the K's this year. In years past it would but not with this team. We do not have enough agitators to start something like this. The Muskegon vs Kzoo game was a drag down knock out old time hockey game. Tonight's Kzoo vs PH is just pure A.. Kicking with Kzoo just rubbing it in the face of PH.

Are you saying Kazoo has that kind of agitators? Not from what I saw Friday night. It all depends on the players and how much they want to pay the price. When they finally get fed up, something like that will happen here. It's not just the thugs. It has to be everybody.

Blake if a game like the Muskegon vs Kzoo or the Kzoo vs PH happens this year at home I will buy you a beer. You did not see any Friday night because we are not view as a "tough" hockey club. I am jealous of Muskegon and Kzoo because they have a natural rivalry and we have nothing. I too looked forward to Friday's game with the anticipation that it would be a rough and physical game. I am glad we won, but other than that it was a boring hockey game. There were hardly any scrums at all. I am glad we got 7 out of 8 points this week but is it me or is the K's a boring hockey club? Has the "Jungle" become a botanical garden? What is our image because right now I am not sure I could describe to anyone what "we" are as a hockey club.

Really don't understand the point of posting the boxscore. Games like that will happen from time to time. Doesn't prove the league has changed or become a goon league. We had one exactly like both of them back against Rockford. It happens.

I am pretty comfortable in saying we have a team loaded with players who "can" drop the gloves when needed. If we got into a game such as any of the above, I am pretty comfortable in saying our guys could handle themselves pretty well. The only thing is, we are not the aggressor type. Galbraith is probably the only one who looks for a fight, the others will do it when pushed into it and all of them seem to do just fine.

5 for Fighting, are you a hockey fan or a fight fan? Fights always have been and always will be a part of hockey. That is not a problem. In my mind, the problem is fans like you who only care to see fights. If that's what you want, go watch ultimate fighting.

Hey Five, order this video when it comes out. This way you can have the good 'ol days of hockey right at your fingertips. Wanting to see this always nice I suppose. I have seen a few 5 on 5 fights in my days. Expecting to see something like that is insane. Them days are long gone bud.

Scoops thanks for the link already saw the promo. Most of that is from LNAH up in Canada. Also when you refer to a boat load of guys who can drop their gloves and fight please name them for me? I can only think of 2 right now, Galbraith and Jorde. If we got into a game like above with either Muskegon or Kzoo not only we get pounded physically but we also would loose the game. If you consider the last couple of homes games worth the price of admission than you are crazy. We are a boring club to watch. Hey I am for us winning and that is the bottom line, but I can watch our games on Comcast and watch real hockey on B2 networks when kzoo and Muskegon play or Rockford and Kzoo play because there is more of chance something physical is going to happen. Heck Danbury and Richmond have had great games of late. Even the CHL has promotions for guarantee fight night, think that would ever happen here not a chance.

Rob Guinn is a big time tough guy, isn't he? He'd take care of all those other teams no problem. Just kidding of course.

Yea B2 only charges $6.00 a game and the video is not all that bad. I believe every team in the U has their games broadcast, except for one team; can you name them? That is right our beloved K's are the only team not to broadcast. I still do not get why the Franke's don't allow this to happen. Blake you have any insight into this I know there was an article written about this but it was more of he said she said type of article with no true reason.
