Tailing the Komets

Roster updates

Rick Varone is back in Fort Wayne from camp with Lake Erie and is getting checked out for what the Komets hope is a minor rib injury.

Evgeny Saidachev is also back in Fort Wayne after going to camp with Worcester and scoring a goal and an assist in two exhibition games.

Mathieu Curadeau also went to Worcester's camp and is going to sign with Kalamazoo.

Maxime Gravelle is going back to college.

Rick Whitehead is still in Norfolk's camp.

Former Komet Mike Butters has been reassigned from Norfolk's GM to a scout and had a year added to his contract.

RK: knowing Wendy as I do, she is kidding about the romantic overtones....she is a writer, after all, so she throws in funny stuff to make people laugh. I think she tries to have her posts be just a little different, that's all. It's more self-mocking, making fun of herself than anything, but she is willing to say it to get a laugh. Most people can read the humor there, but I get that tone is sorta hard to come by in a blog posting.

Good to you there's another Sharks fan on here, BTW....that was when we start rockin' this season, I can gloat with you, then cry with you when we blow it in the playoffs again. I love my Sharks, but that was disappointing last season!!

Blueline: Ya, the Sharks were a bit disappointing, but the Pens winning healed the wound up pretty quickly. Plus them taking down the Red Wings in the process made everything happy in the hockey world.

Wendy: You can't do too ridiculous of a long-term contract to get around the rules or else the NHL will make a big stink about investigating you, then won't ever say anything about it again ;)
