Hara is not that bad of an arena. Yeah it's old and yeah the seats are wood but that's about it. NEVER had any problems with rude fans either, they've always been very nice and welcoming. It's also not in a part part of town. You go thru a "bad" part but the arena it self is out by itself. The only time Ive been on the ice at Hara was a few years ago before the Gems were there but the ice then was awesome, way better than any time Ive been on the coliseum ice but like I said, this was before the Gems came there and started using it on a regular basis. Are we talking about the same Hara arena?

My biggest complaint about Hara is the size of the locker rooms, very small.

Last time were their when the bus trip went, was the only time their was a tad bit of a problem. Some guy wanted to take acouple fans outside and fight. But that was the only time. I have been their alot since the gems got in their and its always fun. We had a really good time tonight. We yelled at Naurato most of the night because of his 70's style mustache. He could def. hear us as well as everyone else in the arena.

My take on the game played against Quad City is that no Komet looked good. The Quad City coach ( Anzalone) seems to play a "Greg Puhalski" type of hockey game. That would be a team that skates well, plays defense first, has quite good goaltending, doesn't have a lot of "scoring stars" but waits until their opponent makes a mistake to capitalize on. I thought they were quite effective Friday but I have to admit that I, personally, hate that style of game.

I do not know the extent of the injury to OC. If OC's injury is serious, and if Thomas has reinjured his ankle, it may be time to place both on IR. One 30 day and maybe one 10 day.

If that would be the case, then the K's need to look at the European players quickly. The deadline for signing is tomorrow. I am sure that the Franke's have their phones busy.

If both OC and Thomas are out for a substantial length of time, Musselwhite is not the answer. He can't make up for the skill of these two players alone.

Hey Columbus, here's a suggestion, send Francis to Springfield and have Springfield send Ratchuk to Fort Wayne. ( Even Bob Chase, during his broadcast, lamented the fact that Springfield is holding on to Ratchuk with no desire to play him while Ratchuk and the Komets would love to have him here.

I understand the fact that Springfield wants extra players in case of an injury or suspension. Norfolk basically did the same thing to Syro. I guess if I was David Franke and thought that Columbus wanted a good working relationship with us, I would be pestering the heck out of them to send him here. Yea, I know the "argument" about the NHL teams doing whatever they want when they want, but if I was in a situation where a player would help us and is not getting ice time where he was, then I would think long and hard about renewing a relationship with any NHL team. Sometimes an affiliation has to be good for the minor league team, too. I'm not sure that I see that with this relationship.

On another note. I wanted to mention something and I forgot.

The Komets recent success has been fun to watch and I look forward to the rest of the season.

Speaking of the rest of the season, more than once during an interview, different Komet players have suggested that each game played is like a playoff game. That in order to gain ground, every game has taken on a deeper importance than before.

I agree. For all of my blogger friends that had the attitude not to worry because the K's will catch fire after Christmas, I would submit that the pre-Christmas schedule is important too.

As we have seen, the Komets have caught "fire" since Christmas. Good for them and good for you.

However, the urgency of the games played now and until the end of the year have risen dramatically because of the lack of success before Christmas.

Each game is important (no matter when on the schedule) and to explain away a slump with "we'll get better after the holidays, we always do", doesn't always translate into a successful season if the hole you dig is too deep.

I'm not at all trying to be negative. I like the work that the Franke's have done in order to turn the season around. I'm just trying to point out that the games you win in November and December are important, too.

Facts are facts.

Boucher still need his play time....both goalies areequally good...you need to keep each fresh of they will not be at top performance.
Mirasty is a good addition...over time, with more skating he will become productive as well as bein destructive...I like him

Alan, you're right. The games played before Christmas are very much as important as the ones after. I always kept writing "it's not Christmas yet" only because so many people were being so negative on here, and Christmas honestly truly seems to have been our turning point the past few years. You really are correct in that sometimes you get into a hole. But sometimes you just need to believe in Santa Claus....LOL....
