Savory fair

It's not about the alcohol!

As an avid home brewer, I see the opposition to Indiana beer and wine served at the State Fair focused only on the word "alcohol." It is important for people to know that for craft brewers and winemakers like myself, it is not about the alcohol; it's about the craft, passion and pride that go into brewing beer and making wine. It is about the rich history of Indiana beer- and winemaking that was erased when Prohibition kicked in. It is about sampling and savoring these beverages made in small batches. This is not your father's fizzy yellow liquid or gallon-jug wine.

Nope, sorry. It is about the alcohol. People tour wineries or visit brew pubs if they want to "sample and savor" these "beverages made in small batches." At fairs, it's strictly BBB, brats, beers and a belch. And keep your cracks about gallon-jug wine to yourself.
