Tailing the Komets

schrock

First is Justin Chwedoruk. The puck is under the right armpit of Quad City goaltender Kyle Jones.

The second is Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock who can see from behind the net the puck is already through Jones' legs and over the line.

I asked Mac if he had talked to anyone after the game last week and told them he thought he had a broken collarbone. He said he hadn't told anyone anything like that and he'd have been all wrapped up if he had a broken collarbone.

I smell a retraction.

Really, haven't we beaten it to death. Hockey players don't need the opposition to know their weaknesses. And if he had a broken collar-bone, I am sure someone has told him or would have told him to keep it quiet. Just like people didn't need to know PC had a broken wrist last season....wasn't it a broken wrist?

But either way, he is hurt, he is not playing, end of story.

Anyone else scratching their heads on why Rechlicz went after Chaulk and why Goonlet went after Syro? I was hoping that a couple of out guys might of gone after Levesque and Stals. Would have been payback I'd think, and fair payback.

Goonlet instigated the fight with Syro, he head-butted him and then dropped his gloves and started throwing punches on him, and Matt had no choice but to fight to defend himself......and so my question, how does Syro get the 2nd altercation penalty. I would think Goonlet would have gotten it only, plus the headbutt. What a butthead.

Fun game tonight overall.

Can't wait to see the FuryHacks go down tonight!!!

Go Komets.

syro had to get the 10 for being the second altercation, its the rules no matter who started it. Goulet got the game because he instigated and was second altercation, alot of the fans around me didnt realize the correction of the penalty after they said syro was a game. Difference? Goulet gets suspension of 1 game syro doesnt. I believe thats how the rule works

I could be wrong, but I think they changed both of the games to only 10 mins. They didn't say correct the Syro call, they said the game misc. were chnged to 10 min.

Hoss you are correct they changed them both to misconducts. The funny thing was the reply when all the Komets clearly saw Goonlet started the altercation. They were pointing to the scoreboard for the ref. Chop Suey would not change his call of course and on Woods. Was that stupid or what, why change your call 3 times.

Just a quick question. What's the idea of having the speakers sooo loud on the ends of the rink between periods. Everyone in those areas cannot talk to anybody unless they scream into their ear. Come on PA guy, turn down the noise, maybe people would like to listen to their friends talking and maybe even the announcements. At least they don't talk during the game.

Sounds like a good game... Had family obligations that kept me from coming; but the K's stay hot. Lets keep it up for tonights game.

Word is that Musky players seem none to happy with whats going on in Muskegon these days... Alot of attention and focus being put on the incoming USHL franchise and some tender feelings may be getting hurt...lol May be affecting their play as of late, too much talent on that team to be spiral;ing the way they are. Lets hope the K's can damage those fragile feelings some more tonight....

Chaulk was headbutted by Rechlitz with a helmet. If he isn't suspended, this league is a joke.. it was blatent and obvious.

The Komets didn't take any crap last night from anyone. It was nice to see.

Oh, what about the babyfit that Mitch threw? Supplying the Mallards with a 4 min PP that they scored on. Could have changed the outcome of the game... The Komets won, so it'll be overlooked.

how did you guys feel about Chaulks fight last night. he doesn't do that often

Pretty good game last night. I guess I'm happy the team didn't send people out after the Mallards' skill players, only because (correct me if I'm wrong) we play these guys three more times before the end of the regular season. They have nothing to lose, and the Komets have everything to lose if it comes down to sending people out, losing games, and getting people hurt.

No HUGE complaints about last night. Woods couldn't shut up after his penalty (I know I'm shocked) but, as JM said, the Komets won. I just wish Syro could get out of his current dip and get going again. He had some opportunities but just couldn't get them in. Keep trying. Oh, and I know he probably deserved it, but who throws Chewy in the box at a home game?? What was that ref thinking? I mean, come on, it's Chewy! He's just a little guy!

JR good point about Musky having bad feelings about the situation up there. They are loaded and their play of late isnt up to par for them. We need to make hay on them while we can and get the home ice for the T Cup playoffs. The ones I feel for are the hockey fans up there! They are just like us but in a different location. I really feel sorry for them that they have had pro hockey there over 50 years and a lot if success also. I do know that Terry Fic is not pleased about it either. To the Musky fans I say we are sorry about this BUT we want to clean your clocks One more time. As for the Komets....we will have hockey here but what the layout will be is up for grabs. Should be one interesting off season dont you think???

Just so you all know the referee (At least that is his title) did not have a good night explaining himself. He had know idea who scored Quad Cities first goal. He gave #6 there was no #6 on the roster. I called him back for it than he said "whoever". So we had to wait to review it between periods.

He did in fact call Games Misconducts for the second fight. He had to come back and change them to 10 minute Misconducts for each player...WE all heard the same thing.

After the headgear was thrown on the ice he signaled an Unsportsmanlike and said "Add two more minutes" we did that and assumed he wanted it added to Mitch Woods. Than he came back and changed it to a Bench penalty so it would become a 5 on 3 situation.

There is no question this guy goes by the scoreboard. You all know I try to be as fair as possible towards referees. Their job is tough enough. But this guy should not be in the IHL. I do not care how hard it is to find officials.

I find it very hard to believe three guys and not one of them saw the Headbutt on Chaulk.

Hopefully tonight will be different as far as the official but with the same outcome.

I don't know how they could have missed it either Dennis, it was right out there for God and everybody to see.

About Muskegon, yes a lot is being said up there to promote next season's team/league. For awhile I joined a Facebook group from there called something like "Keep professional hockey in Muskegon". I figured they didn't have a chance of doing that but it would be interesting to see what they were doing and maybe get a read on how the fans felt.

Shortly after a major press conference and the big promotional push started there was a very noticeable shift in attitude even among that group. It went from "we don't want it " to "well, it does look like it could be interesting hockey" to "let's win the Turner Cup and then go on to our new team". I quit the group. Of course if you are a Muskegon fan that would be the best attitude to have anyway because there is no way of stopping it unless nobody shows up for a couple of seasons.

I wonder how much this does affect the players' attitudes. I'm sure they all want to do as well as they can and win the cup as well. They are pros and none of them can play in the USHL so they will all be looking for jobs next season and the better they do this season the more value they have. On the other hand fan attitude and community support are also factors in the psyche of players, especially vets that have played there for awhile so I guess it is possible it is having some affect.

is it true mironovic put a mallard in a headlock and bulldogged him into the glass after a whistle?

Mitch did not get the extra penalty. Al Sims did. Kaleigh was also very lucky he did not get an instigator penalty in the final five minutes for his fight in the last minute.

I wondered the same thing Blake, I also wonder if Sims sent him for that reason to go after Palmer. Not saying Sims told him but gave him the green light...

So My Man Mitch is in the clear, then...LOL...

And Hit, you strike again with "Goonlet"....awesome. I love it. I've been calling him "Gou-lady" all season, but I like your nickname way better. You have a way with words...especially when impersonating Terry Ficorelli...

DHOUGH,It looked like Danko gave him a side-body slam like they do in the WWE.
Maybe Danko watches TNA and wanted to immulate the "Monster" Abyss and do the Black Hole Slam on him.
Danko is not one to mess with. lol

As usual, JM. LOL Al said it was his, and the players bailed him out on the PK. Players I talked to today said it was all his as well.
