Tailing the Komets

So what do you expect tonight?

Komets have nothing to play for except pride, which they need against Muskegon, and the Fury have everything to play for. What are you expecting out of this weekend's games?

Another thing. The Komets have been talking in recent years about maybe changing the format the of the annual season awards as far as when they are presented. It just seems that fewer and fewer fans stick around to watch them. What would you like to see? Or leave it the same?

Hi Blake!
I just saw this on Port Huron's website. They already gave out their team awards, but it sounded like it was at a banquet or dinner. Since the Komets already have an end-of-year jersey auction, why not do the team awards at that party if they don't think enough fans stick around?

I think the Komets have plenty to play for this weekend. They are winless against the Fury and could really use a win against them, especially to damage their playoff seed. They have the potential to see the Wings in the 2nd round of the playoffs and to win the season series with them would be a nice feather in their cap considering the way the season started. As far as fewer fan stayign around for the season end awards, if they think there are fewer now, do it at the auction night.... 3,000-4,000 fans are WAY ahead of the amount of people at the auction party.

SUPER-FAN,

Both Muskegon and K-Zoo need to win both nights to make sure they capture the #1 seed....With that said i think this weekend we will either win or the other teams will blow us out. i'm leaning toward win as anytime we have had the opportunity this year to mess with someone's win/loss record we do. I would like to ruin the Tarry cup for Muskegon though!

As for the awards, we stick around and watch, would also attend the year end party and watch if it was there. Maybe a fan favorite award would keep people involved a little, to vote we could drop our ticket stubs in a container after each game and the player with the most ticket stubs at the end of the year wins. Its just a thought.

Lil Burgee will have cold feet tonight! C-everyone at the game!

I want to see them play well and win. Otherwise I'll come home and learn again that we suck, we don't have enough to compete against the big boys, we didn't hit, and so on. They need to play hard, period. We don't want to go "backing in" to the playoffs.

Could they do the award show before the last game starts? Just a 10 minute preshow to give out the awards would be fine. It might boost the morale of some of the players and really give a great last game of the season.

I think we will see a playoff style game tonight with a lot of banging...I hope. Like to see us pull what we pulled up at Rockford about 3 weeks ago.

Huge Win, I think tonight!!! We played a damn fine game against a team that had alot riding on the line tonight. We did it without 3 topline players as well. Great game! I enjoyed watching our guys hustle for loose pucks and make things happen. Pretty good job on the Penalty Kill too. Considering this is the team that normally thrashes us when we are shorthanded. Kelly Miller and Brent Rumble had an awesome shorthanded play tonight for a goal. Kelly plays hard every shift. Hope we see the same effort tomorrow against the K-wings. I will even overlook what Robin Bouchard did right in front of our heavyweight, tonight.
