What are your feelings about Molly McMaster playing a shift with the Komets on March 12? For it, against it, don't really care? I'll play devil's advocate a little along the way (I know, you're shocked. LOL)
Also, if anyone has any more rules questions, there's been some very interesting stuff in the Han can anybody not like that game? thread. We'll have to have discussions like that more often.

I have no problem with her playing 1 shift for the Komets. I think its for a good cause.
I don't know this story...what's going on..where can I find it??

Good Cause, Good Fight, Cancer Sucks and needs to be solved. I don't want to really take sides on her playing in the game. I am sad when any one has had cancer or is living with it. My Grandmother is a cancer survivor of the same nature as this young lady. I also have a job where I help people living with this awful disease. I'm not sure putting her in a game for each team in the UHL is the right thing. Maybe have her drop the puck at center ice or something like that. Raffle-off her Jersey with the proceeds going to the Cancer Society Fund. I guess skating in a game will get her more attention and on television and in the newspaper. That is good. I think it is a good cause.
To Clarify the last post: What I mean by taking sides is.....I just hope the UHL is promoting this young lady's cause, and not promoting the UHL in this instance.
Promoting the UHL would be a bit tacky under these circumstances.
I do not have a problem with her playing for a shift....but I would like to know if the team will still dress a regular lineup plus Molly, or does some one have to sit out as a scratch. Also, I am only guessing that if she were to score or commit a penalty that it would count the same as any other player.
I have no problem with it, she'll be on the ice for a minute tops. I'm sure if a play was to break out and she was the one in position that the other team would go soft. This is not the first time there's been a "special" player for a shift. I was at an Indianapolis Ice game a few years back and there was a small child with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in net for warmups and a shot in the game. The other team had the puck on a break away and could have easily gone up 1-0 but the "shot" hit the wheel of is chair and was called dead in where he ofcourse got a standing ovation and wishes from both team as he went off the ice. I'm sure a similar "slip" would happen. I just hope that Eneman makes an apperance!
I'm sure she can hold her own with the guys. Afterall, she is a hockey player.
I'm excited. It is something different. And beside she is not the only girl to do this. Didn't Tonya Harding suit up for a men's hockey game once ? And then there is Wickenhauser (I think) on the USA team that plays in Finland in a men's league. And I believe she played a little bit in the ECHL with Long Beach.
I'm very excited to see her play. And what she doing is great and for a good cause. Can't wait until March 12th!
I think it's something different for a good cause. I think its great for her. Will certainly be at the game.
Minor league sports is the place for gimmicks, and at least this is a gimmick in the service of a good cause.
This is a neat but I'm not going to say I like it. It's like a glorified cerimonial puck drop.
I'd rather see the UHL do what the Columbus Blue Jackets did for a similar cause last year. They set up a scrimage between two adult leagues following the NHL game.
I'd bet they have this scheduled on Sunday to better promote her cause - there is a post game fan skate. I'd be very surprised if you don't see her out there then.
I've mind of got mixed feelings on this. Yes, it's a gimmick, but what was Fletching coming back? I'm sure the UHL will get a ton of great pub out of this as well. I guess I'm apathetic. Oh, Lord, get me out of February ASAP.
