A couple of things I've been thinking about for a long time are discussed here.

So what do you think?

Didn't Brosal say that "addition is subtraction" in this Elite Professional AA Hockey League?

I guess people don't pick up on jokes unless you put the dumb LOL after them?

I was saying that just having a shootout is taking away the defence just as college football takes out the kickoff and field poss. If you get the ball in field goal range, how hard is it to score at least three? It would be like having a freethrow "shootout" to end a basketball game or the next baseball game we could bring out a dunk tank for each team to throw at for the win instead of going extra innings.

Personally I really don't like the shootout. Sure it is fun and exciting but I still think it is like ending a tied baseball game by having a home run derby.

I know what you guys would like...instead of a shootout to decide the game each team picks 5 guys who fight one on one. Last man standing wins it for the team ;-)

Nah, Tony, they'd rather see the coaches go at it! My money would be on Kris Waltze and Bruce Ramsay. I was thinking about this the other day that there are a bunch of coaches in this league would were not shy about dropping them. Martinson, Bingham, Curran, Kerr. I still get a kick out of the story that Bawa told me that Bingham was brought to Kamloops to protect HIM.

I would have to agree that there should be maybe a 15 minute OT played, then a shootout, if necessary. I've always thought the shootout was a crummy idea. Sure it's exciting, but to come down to maybe that one guy scoring to win, when that team played like crap that night, and just gets lucky with a good shot? Give me OT!!!
