Tailing the Komets

Some notes

Danko Mironovic and Jon Mirasty are going on IR, Mike Ratchuk and Artem Podshendyalov are in the lineup.

John DiPace is retiring from hockey.

Oh, and the other thing I forgot originally. Derek Patrosso got the game misconduct the other day over a miscommunication with a linesman, according to Patrosso. Patrosso felt the linesman had missed an offsides call that led to Dayton's second goal and told the linesman it was scored because the linesman was sleeping on the job. The linesman believed Patrosso was saying Patrosso was going to put him to sleep. After he got the game misconduct, and Patrosso said the linesman came back at him, then Patrosso said he had a few things to the linesman started it by coming back at him.

All the hype....all the T-shirts.....all the lighting and thunder during the pregame promo......

Go sit in the stands Nasty.....we don't need you against an Evansville team that knocked out our #1 defender.

Same old-same old.......

Well he might as well be on IR they will not let him do anything when he is on the ice. We still have Shrock and Cescon if needed tonight , not as tough as Mirasty but tough enough!! GO KOMETS!!!

New 2 blog... K's fan I agree 100% with u. Why Hype A Player If He Is Not Going 2 Play? I Thought They Brought Him Down Here 2 Play, Not Ride The Pine Pony. Again Hopefully & Hopefully not that he does have an injury cause if he doesnt more people r going to get on the franke's butts more than the usual.

Heaven forbid I criticize the almighty coach, but (and this is an honest to God question) what is Sims issues with enforcers? Having said that I hope Mirasty is hurt because if not that just begs other teams to attack us with no recourse.

Have to say this is a big mystery. Unless he is really hurt.
Haven't commented on last weekend. First live games I have seen this year. However, my opinion Al had some questionable personel combos on the ice at times. The 5 minute kill for E'ville on Saturday didn't just affect that game, I think it affected Sunday as well.
Thought the team looked better then last year on Friday, then came Saturday with the "3 minute meltdown".
Nothing to say about Sunday.
A Mirasty dance may have shaken things up tonight.
Hope they can shake it off and get on another good streak.

I would have to say he is hurt or had to go back to cuse for a couple days.

He is going to be at Champs tomorrow, so I don't think he left.

Nice win against a team that has about 2 or 3 good players. We really played down to their level once again.

Mirasty was at the game tonight, didn't look like he was limping or anything.

Cohn reported strained quadriceps for Mirasty and bad back for Danko.

Someone noted his strained quads must be from trying to remove the chains from himself as he seems chained to the bench.

Just a simple question for all of you who are hollering for Mirasty to be in this Evansville game tonight. If we play Mirasty and no one will fight with him, what good is it? He is too smart to get an instigator penalty, and his reputation has frightened off any dance partners. If no one will fight with him, he can't do his job. Wouldn't you rather see a fast skater with scoring possibilities on the ice in that case?

Christian took our All-Star Defenseman from us with 2 cheap shots on one shift......

Is that ok with you?

Hit -- Wasn't Mirasty actually playing in that particular game when Christian knocked off Frankie's helmet and then Frankie went after him and ran into his elbow? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought Mirasty was playing in that game.

He was on the bench in that game....you are correct sir.

No one went onto the ice to meet Mr. Christian.

They let him away with taking out our best D-Man.

Something to be proud of.

Christian should have been dealt with even though Frankie did skate after him. The elbow was a little bush but it was also a reaction to a guy coming to get him. There is no way you can tell me Frankie was going to the bench when he took the elbow. And Mirasty may have been on the bench when it happened, but there was still plenty of game left and it should have been dealt with then.

Have to agree, Rich. Frankie may have been a little dazed by the first hit. And then Christian should have been man enough to at least drop his stick. That game was strange on a number of levels.

On the Patrosso thing...so basically not only are the officials in this league blind, but they're deaf too?

Mirasty didnt see a shift the rest of that game against evansville.....mirasty has impressed me with the little play that he has shown....he was in the upper leagues for a reason and im sure he played more regularly then he is in the lower leagues.....not screaming for a regular shift but what a joke......how is mirasty supposed to have dance partners when he doesnt play and when he does he isnt put out there with any other tough guys from other teams but put out there against weak lines.....having talked to a source in the know mirasty is POed to say the least and his quad is COMPLETELY fine.....sims quote was we need scoring not fighting......what a waste it was to bring him here if not going to use him.....i feel bad for the guy im sure he is ready for next year to start

We brought Mirasty here basically because what happened at the Wichita game. They sent out their goons and we didn't really have enough to counter it. Let Mirasty play and do his job that he was sent here to do. If Sims wants more scoring by having Apod in there, then sit PC for awhile and dress Apod and Nasty. Then we have youth, speed, scoring and more toughness.

Great coach!!!! GM i must agree 100% with your sarcasism......Great coach everywhere he has been without a guy named colin chaulk or colin chin.....or without being coach of a team like you said that owns the league

Ok, lets face it, a guy like Mirasty isnt going to fight a scorer like Christian... Christian would never drop them with a guy like Mirasty, so the K's would be better of having a guy like Cescon or Schrock invite him to dance than Mirasty... There is nothing to gain from Mirasty jumping Christian except a 7 minute PP for Evansville and gamer for Mirasty (then league review). Then what happens after that? A guy like Lane goes out and jumps Lardner, Chaulk, etc... while Mirasty is showering.

The bottom line is the K's dont retaliate, period... Teams and fans all wait until the week after an incident to see if a player is suspended. Players are scared of how many games they will have to sit if they protect a team mate that way... Suspensions, suspensions, suspensions...we have gotten suspension happy when it comes to hockey justice and then moan and groan after the fact if the bad guy didnt get the amount of games you thought was just and then say somebody should have taken care iof it a week ago when it happened...

Christian should have gotten his due during the game in which the elbow was delivered... He wasnt given a gamer, so somebody should have sent a message the next shift he was on the ice after his penalty time was up... Fighter or not, somebody should have went after him; but didnt... Now we have all this impotent rage towards a player that has yet to "pay" for his dirty elbow to one of the K's stars...

It's sad what hockey has become....
