Tailing the Komets

Some notes

These will be part of a notebook later in the week.

It doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while the Komets will out-draw an NHL or an NBA game. It happened Saturday night when the Komets' attendance was 10,480, and the NBA's Indiana at Detroit game drew a crowd of 8,824... During five years as a Komet, Boucher is 55-25-8 on the road during the regular season and 115-46-11 overall during the regular season... Before Tuesday's loss, Boucher was 9-3 as a Komet in Bloomington... Over the last 23 games, the Komets have had only 61 power-play chances compared to 96 for their opponents. The Komets have allowed only six power-play goals in the last 63 attempts against... There seems to be a general opinion around the league that the Berry Conference is deeper than the Turner Conference this season, but the Turner teams are 28-18-5 when playing outside their division. The ``IHL'' teams -- Fort Wayne, Bloomington, Dayton, Evansville and Quad City -- are also 26-19-5 against traditional CHL teams... With an 11-2-1 record, December was the Komets' best month since they went 13-1-1 in March 2008... The Komets reached the 20-win mark on New Year's Eve in their 28th game, something they didn't do last season until Feb. 12 in their 44th game.
