Tailing the Komets

Some notes

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock was named IHL Rookie of the Week if you haven't heard already. So far, he's been the best part of the season, wouldn't you say?

Colin Chaulk passed his 500th point as a Komet and 800th as a pro over the weekend... Tuesday and Wednesday's games will be on WKJG, 1380-AM, not WOWO... Tuesday night the Komets will wear their new black uniforms probably for the last time at home this season. They will wear them for some road games. Those jerseys will NOT be included in the end-of-season auction, according to General Manager David Franke. He wants to keep them around for a couple of years... Bring your skates for the post-game tomorrow... Nick Boucher will start the next two games and Tim Haun will go on Thursday night... Rick Varone will be back in the lineup on NYE... In a promotion just made for the Sosenheimer boys, the first 5,000 fans going into Thursday's game will receive free noisemakers... We'll have this week's Inside The Zone link up soon. Kudos to Glenn's wife for putting up with him all the way back from Arkansas yesterday... I'd have guessed both Shutterbug and Wendy were celebrating, oh, like their 25th birthday. In fact, I'm guessing they both still get carded (remember the joke last week about mean red-headed enforcers? I'm trying to make up for it.)

Speaking of the Sosenheimers, how about some prayers for mom Heather who is undergoing surgery early Tuesday morning in Chicago.

Also, you never know how things are going to work out. Last week I wrote the story about Jon and Mark Shepler and family. Well, somehow through facebook and other internet connections, Mark has received messages from a couple of dozen people from across the country whose kids have the same form of MD. Whoda thunk?
