Since all the discussion on Eddie Campbell is really pointless, who would you have as the Komets' next captain for the playoffs and why?
Among the candidates: Guinn, Galbraith, Drouin, Luciuk, Dupuis, Miller, Goodwin. Are you getting the idea that the Komets have lots of leadership here yet?

I'd probably go with DuPuis first and Luciuk second.
I'd agree with Greg. Either Luciuk or Dupuis. I don't want Lance talking to the refs anymore than he already does. Luciuk is pretty level-headed and experienced.
If it were up to me, I think I'd pick Dupuis because of his experience and temperment. My second pick would be Goodwin, based on Chaulker's suggestion.

I loved Chaulk's suggestion: Goodwin. It would be very cool to see one of the younger guys with the C on the sweater. I'd like to see Drouin or Dupuis, too.
While I think that any of the players the others have mentioned...Luciuk, Miller, Goodwin or Dupuis would make a good captain (Dupuis wore the "C" on another occasion in the mid 1990's for us during the IHL days) I think as a sign of respect to Colin...just have 3 guys wearing the "A" Like what the Red Wings did when Yzerman was out for an extended period.
I totally agree with Bob. Even though Chaulk is out, he is still the heart and soul of this team. Don't put any other added pressure on the guys as they have enough right now. Just make someone else an "A" and go from there.
I say make Miller the third "A."
Or the Devils, even though Scott Stevens retired last summer, they still haven't named a Captain..I'm not even sure if they have 3 Alternates..
OK, I'm hearing some good names, but why do you think a particular player would make a good captain or third alternate? So far Theresa has made the most salient point. How about the rest of you.

Why wouldnt they pick Mike Dombieciwicz. He has the best patients and the best captains are always defenseman.
OK, but why should they pick Dombkiewicz? I'm not criticizing your choice, just asking why you think he'd be a good captain.
Blake... are they thinking of making someone else a captain? I don't think I have seen a team do that ever (I have been following the Komets for about 10 years now). I think they should just add another "A" and it should by Luciyk. He is very level headed, and I'm pretty sure he has been an "A" before with K-zoo.
id pick miller because of his coaching experience and the fact he stays out of the box and is probably respected by the refs. if you wannt to go by respect also you couldnt go wrong with guy or troy either
Kelly Miller, a lead by example type of player who does all the little things to win...By the way, did anyone hear him after the final game of the season when he got the first star of the game, during his interview, he sounded very impressive and motivating in his comments....there is a good leader. Give Kelly the A or the C. His hard work deserves the chance.

Well Blakes that is because he has the most experience and is a defenseman. He has been on lots of teams and that experience makes him the best choice since he knows the other teams inside and out MAN!

Anyone know anything about Schererville? I am taking up residence there this weekend doing a girls Fast Pitch tournament. It is a bit too close to Gary for my taste but I am "told" by the assignor that suckered me ERRRRRRR requested I go that it is nice.
I think either Guinn or Miller would be good choices. I also am not opposed to having Lance take over the reigns of captain. I think he would take great pride in the responsibility.
Actually you guys missed the obvious way to pick a captain. What do you call that wrestling thing where there are 20 guys fighting each other at once? Last man to turtle wins? lol
well like a good friend of mine said if someone takes over captain they most likely will go to colin and colin already said goody would be a good choice but i agree it would be good to respect colin so they should slap an "A" on millers jersey
